Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran for University Level Students Held

Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Student Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQM) on Thursday (7/9/2023) in the Hall on the 1st floor of the ULM Banjarmasin Rectorate Building. The 2023 ULM MTQM is included in a series of events for ULM’s 65th Anniversary and is also ULM’s effort to select talented students who will then be included in the national level MTQM.

Based on a report from the Chair of the 2023 ULM MTQMN Committee, Prof. Dr. Akhmad Yunani, S.E., M.Si., there are 11 branches being contested from Thursday to Saturday (7-9 September 2023), including:

1. Musabaqah Tartil Al-Qur’an was attended by 34 participants
2. Musabaqah Hifzil Qur’an was attended by 36 participants
3. Musabaqah Al-Qur’an Application Design was attended by 8 participants
4. Musabaqah Khatt Al-Qur’an was attended by 26 participants
5. Musabaqah Tilawatil Al-Qur’an was attended by 12 participants
6. Musabaqah Scientific Writing on the Al-Qur’an was attended by 9 groups
7. Musabaqah Scientific Debate on the English Al-Qur’an was attended by 5 groups
8. Musabaqah Adhan was attended by 13 participants
9. Musabaqah Maulid Al-Barjanzi was attended by 4 groups
10. Musabaqah Syarhil Qur’an was attended by 9 groups
11. Musabaqah Fahmil Qur’an was attended by 12 groups

Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, S.E., M.Si., said that through the implementation of the ULM MTQM, ULM students will be screened to take part in the 2023 National MTQM event which will be held at Brawijaya University in November. “I hope that in the future Qurani cadres can bring prosperity and achievement to all students,” he said. Also through this event, Dr. Rusmin hopes to grow and encourage students’ enthusiasm for learning and practicing the values contained in the Al-Qur’an.

ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si., who also had the opportunity to attend this event directly, gave a speech and inaugurated the opening of the 2023 ULM MTQM event. In his speech, he explained that the implementation of the ULM MTQM is also a religious development activity that needs to be ongoing. carried out from time to time and continuously. He also hopes that the student activity program related to religious formation will not only be limited to implementing MTQ, but will be further expanded in order to increase the empowerment of ULM students in increasing understanding of the Islamic religion as a whole.

“South Kalimantan is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is famous for its religious values, and as a source of great scholars in our homeland. “Therefore, ULM must be at the forefront in broadcasting Islam more massively in the future,” said the Rector.

The Rector further advised that in the future student development at ULM would not just be sporadic, but would be programmed to be continuous. “Never again, if there is an activity, then coaching will be carried out.” he said. The Rector said that good coaching is continuous coaching, from start to finish. The results of this coaching depend on the coaching process, coaching program, management process and policies taken by the university in order to condition all competitions that will be participated in at the national level. “Let’s prepare a plan for implementing planned, structured student development activities, starting from the study program level to the faculty.” Said the Rector.
