Preparatory Meeting Ahead of the ASIIN International Accreditation Visitation
Banjarmasin – Rector of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si., together with the ULM Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) held a coordination meeting regarding preparations for a field visit for ASIIN assessors on Tuesday (22/8/2023) in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the ULM Banjarmasin Rectorate Building. The meeting was held to prepare for the arrival of assessors from The Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN). ASIIN is an international scale accreditation institution that is credible and recognized by the Indonesian government through Kepmendikbud RI Number 83/P/2020.
ASIIN is an accreditation institution from Germany that targets the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture and biology. There are 4 study programs that have currently submitted ASIIN international accreditation documents, namely the Bachelor of Soil Science, Bachelor of Agribusiness, Bachelor of Agricultural Industrial Technology and Bachelor of Forestry Science study programs.
In this meeting, the Rector also provided several inputs to the coordination meeting participants. On this occasion he said that the accreditation process could be prepared optimally. The Rector said that the University would prepare a budget to support the achievement of international scale accreditation within ULM. “Map the problems you have one by one from all existing aspects, then determine the budget needed to overcome them,” said Prof. Ahmad to the heads of faculties and study programs.
Obtaining this international scale accreditation is also the Rector’s target for ULM to achieve, especially after ULM officially becomes a PTN-BLU (Public Service Agency). Therefore, the Rector advised that efforts to obtain international accreditation by the four study programs above are the beginning of international accreditation of other study programs and faculties within ULM. The Rector hopes that the entire ULM academic community can collaborate and synergize with each other to achieve the targets that have been designed, one of which is obtaining international scale accreditation. The arrival of the assessors is scheduled for Monday (4/9/2023) and the field visit will be carried out the following day.
