PKKMB 2023: The Role of Higher Education in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0
Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) officially started the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activities for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The ULM PKKMB agenda was carried out from 15 August to 19 August 2023 at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium. This year ULM has 6,117 new students, around 85% of the total students accepted in all ULM PMB selection pathways. With the capacity of the ULM auditorium building around 3,000 people, new students take turns attending PKKMB in the Auditorium, while some others take part in PKKMB in their respective faculties and the ULM General Building.
The 2023 ULM PKKMB was opened with a symbolic event of putting on alma mater jackets for new students from the Tahfidz pathway and each faculty representative by the Rector of ULM, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si. “We hope that with this PKKMB, students will have the provision, insight, and knowledge about preparation to enter the world of higher education, because of course it is different when they study at the high school level and the equivalent. Now they have to be more independent, more disciplined and so on in order to set a strategy to go to college faster with better achievements,” said the Rector.
ULM Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin S.E., M.Sc., added that this PKKMB activity took place from 15 to 19 August 2023. In detail, the university level lasted for two days, followed by the ceremony on 17 August, then on 18 and 19 August it was continued in each Faculty. and Study Program. “There are programs from the Ministry that must be submitted, for example later the Rector will introduce how higher education is in the 4.0 and 5.0 eras,” said the Vice Rector.
Apart from that, he also explained that there were several material submissions from the center, such as about narcotics, defending the country, intolerance, terrorism, bullying, and about sexual violence. Various student activities will also be presented starting from achievements, UKM and others. Later there will also be conveyed about the strategy for students from waja to kaputing, so that ULM students have the ability to study at this university and complete their studies on time. “With the spirit of his will, later students will be given an in-depth study of this matter. We hope that these new students will graduate on time, because now all the scholarships given are limited to 8 semesters. so they must graduate on time, “concluded the Vice Rector.
