195 ULM Students Are Ready to Participate in the 2023 Merdeka Student Exchange Program
Banjarmasin – University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) held a release and debriefing of the 2023 PMM (Independent Student Exchange) outbound students on Monday (31/7/2023) at the Lecture Theater ULM Banjarmasin. A total of 195 ULM students were registered to carry out the 2023 Independent Student Exchange Program (PMM). This agenda was attended by ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr. M.Kes., S.H., Sp.F., ULM MBKM Coordinator Prof. Dr. Suratno, M.Pd., and faculty leaders within ULM.
This year, the number of PMM participants has increased compared to the previous year. A total of 195 students will depart to carry out the PMM 2023 program, while last year there were only 126 students who departed for the PMM 2022 program. A total of 195 students joined from 41 study programs at ULM and will carry out outbound lectures to 54 universities throughout Indonesia. “In Sumatra there are 15 destination universities, Java has 28 destination universities, Nusa Tenggara has 5 universities, Maluku Islands 1, Sulawesi 4, and Papua 1,” said Prof. Suratno in his report.
WR 1 ULM, Dr. Iwan Aflanie advised the students who took part in the PMM program, that experience is the most valuable teacher, where they will study in various places and regions. So it is important for them to seek the best experience and maintain an attitude because they will become ambassadors for ULM while studying at other universities.
ULM Rector Prof. Ahmad expressed his appreciation to all students who took part in PMM in 2023. This year, the Rector said, students’ interest in participating in PMM at ULM, both outbound and inbound, has increased. He referred to this program as a national strategic step to increase knowledge and cohesion among Indonesians.
The Rector of ULM advised the PMM participants that they must be role models for the universities where they carry out PMM, not to have the slightest negative note, and must be proud as students who represent ULM. “When you return to ULM, bring extraordinary values with you, and you are obliged to socialize all the benefits you get for your friends at ULM,” he said.
