Saudah Wins a Medal at the ASEAN Para Games 2023 Cambodia
 BANJARMASIN – A proud achievement was made by a Saudah, students at University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) at the ASEAN Para Games 2023 in Cambodia. She won a silver medal in the swimming sport which took place at the Aquatic Center, Morodok, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Sunday (4/6/2023). Saudah, who is currently studying at the IPS Education Study Program, said she was happy to be able to donate a medal to the Indonesian contingent in the women’s 400 meter free number (S6). “I am also grateful to be able to win a medal, thank you for the support that has been given, especially to all NPC Indonesia and South Kalimantan, and my campus ULM,” said Saudah.
In the final round in the women’s 400 meter freestyle, Saudah recorded a time of 7 minutes 46 seconds which put her in second place behind another Indonesian swimmer Riyanti with a time of 6 minutes 56 seconds to win the gold medal. While in third place was Filipino athlete Beariza Josephine Pulache Roble with a time of 7 minutes 51 seconds who won a bronze medal. Even though he hasn’t been able to gain gold, Saudah has the ambition to train harder and achieve higher achievements. “Of course I want to continue to make achievements, especially in the next event to reach the highest position on the podium,” she said.
Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si is also proud of this achievement. He hopes that the enthusiasm of the athletes can be an example for all ULM students. “Congratulations on Saudah’s achievements on the international stage, Indonesia is proud and ULM in particular is very grateful for being made famous,” said the Vice Rector.
Meanwhile, the Head of FKIP ULM IPS Education Study Program, Prof. Ersis Warmansyah Abbas, added that the campus always provides support to outstanding students like Saudah. “Of course ULM is very supportive. In fact, we also give awards to outstanding students like Sauda. Hopefully the fighting spirit of ULM athletes can be emulated by other students,” he concluded.
