The ULM Rector and Academic Community Commemorate the 2023 National Education Day
Banjarmasin – University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) held a National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration ceremony at the ULM Banjarmasin Open Space Field on Tuesday (2/5/2023). The ceremony was led directly by the Rector of ULM Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si. The ceremony was attended by Vice Rector, Chairmen and members of the senate, Bureau Heads, Faculty and Postgraduate Leaders, Heads of Institutions, UPT Heads, Lecturers, Education Staff, and students at Lambung Mangkurat University.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc, on this occasion read out the message from the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia in commemoration of National Education Day May 2, 2023.
In the Minister’s speech delivered by the Rector of ULM as the leader of the ceremony discussed the development of learning that has occurred in Indonesia over the past 3 years. These developments are the implementation of the Freedom to Learn program which was initiated based on the lofty ideals of the Father of Indonesian Education, Ki Hajar Dewantara, namely education that guides the talents, interests and potential of students so that they are able to achieve the highest safety and happiness as human beings and as members of the public.
One of the implementations of Merdeka Learning at the tertiary level includes the Kampus Merdeka programs which are designed so that students can seek knowledge and experience directly outside the campus.
ULM as one of the leading tertiary institutions in South Kalimantan continues to support government programs in order to realize the ideals of educating the nation and building a golden generation of Indonesia. Through this National Education Day commemoration ceremony, ULM jointly celebrates and provides a form of gratitude for the positive transformation that has been achieved by the world of Indonesian education to date.
“This is the result of our hard work and cooperation. Today is also the right moment to reflect back on every step that has been taken so that we can design the direction of our journey going forward to ensure the continuity and sustainability of the Freedom to Learn movement,” said the Rector in delivering the Minister’s speech.
