Rector Inaugurates 1300 Graduates at the 113th Graduation, Encourages Quality Improvement Towards Golden Indonesia 2045

Banjarbaru – The Senate of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held an open session with the agenda for the graduation of the 113th Diploma, Bachelor’s, Professional, Master’s, Specialist and Doctoral program graduates at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium, Tuesday (29/8/2023). A total of 1,300 graduates were inaugurated at the 112th ULM graduation ceremony. Based on the Rector’s Decree Number 1521/UN8/SP/2023, the details of the 112th ULM graduation participants consisted of 7 graduates from the Diploma program, 1,097 people from the Bachelor program, 97 people from the Professional Education program, 88 people from the Master’s program, 7 people from the Specialist program, and a 4-person Doctoral program.

The following are the best graduates at the 112th ULM graduation:

• Meisya Debora, A.Md.Ak. graduate of the D3 Accounting study program, Faculty of Economics and Business with a GPA of 3.87
• Nursyalasiah, S.Pd. graduate of the Bachelor of Educational Technology study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education with a GPA of 3.93
• Aprilia Hamdani, S.H. graduate of the Bachelor of Laws study program at the Faculty of Law with a GPA of 3.82
• Muhammad Nor Riansyah, S.M. graduate of the Bachelor of Management study program, Faculty of Economics and Business with a GPA of 3.90
• Nadya Rhomadani Saputri, S.I.P., graduate of the Bachelor of Government Science study program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences with a GPA of 3.91
• Nur Azizah Amalia, S.Pi., graduate of the Bachelor of Fisheries Product Technology study program, Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs with a GPA of 3.94
• Suci Latifah Noor Fahmi, S.T.P graduated from the Bachelor of Agricultural Industrial Technology study program, Faculty of Agriculture, with a GPA of 3.95
• Farida Isnaeni, S.Hut., graduate of the Bachelor of Forestry study program, Faculty of Forestry 3.91
• Irvan Aulia Luthfi, S.Kom., graduate of the Bachelor of Information Engineering study program, Faculty of Engineering, with a GPA of 3.79
• Ainur Rahmah, S.K.M., graduate of the Bachelor of Public Health study program, Faculty of Medicine, with a GPA of 3.82
• Raisa Amalia, S.Kom., graduate of the Bachelor of Computer Science study program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with a GPA of 3.93
• Laily Aryani, M.Ling., graduate of the Master’s program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management with a GPA of 4.00
• Asih Mitra Fenie Lestari graduated from the Professional Engineer Education study program with a GPA of 3.98
• Nadya, Sp.OG graduated from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Doctoral program with a GPA of 3.71
• Rina Muhayah Noor Pitri graduated from the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences with a GPA of 4.00

At this 113th graduation ceremony, ULM graduated 7 Specialist program doctor graduates consisting of 1 Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist graduate, 1 Surgery Specialist graduate, 2 Pulmonology Specialist graduates, and 3 Anesthesiology Specialist graduates.

Rector Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si in his speech congratulated the graduates and parents who were present. On this occasion he also announced the latest policy that had been issued through the Rector’s Decree regarding the awards or rewards given by ULM to the best ULM graduates.

In this policy, the Rector offers an offer in the form of tuition fee dispensation for graduates who wish to continue their studies to graduate studies or master’s studies. This policy is stated in the ULM Rector’s Decree Number 526/UN8/KU/2023 concerning Providing Relief for Educational Development Contributions for Outstanding Employees and Alumni Who Continuing their Studies at ULM.

For graduates of the best graduates 1, 2, and 3 of the undergraduate study programs who continue their master studies at ULM, a 100% tuition reduction is given in semester 1, and a reduction of 50% in semesters 2 to semester 4. There is also a reduction in tuition fees for undergraduate program graduates with satisfactory and very satisfactory predicates who continue master studies by 50% in semester 1 and by 30% in semester 2 to semester 4.

The Rector of ULM said that the implementation of this policy was in order to encourage students to improve quality and interest in learning, encourage students’ interest to graduate on time and continue their studies.

“We hope that this policy can increase IKU achievements, one of the targets is to increase the number of new alumni who will immediately continue their education at strata 2. Apart from that, it is also to provide support to the government in preparing superior human resources towards 2045,” said the Rector.

To the graduates, the Rector said that those who graduated on Tuesday (28/8) would become the nation’s next generation who are qualified and ready to work in society. “Prospective alumni should always be in touch with each other, especially with ULM as their alma mater, where alumni are still needed by institutions, whether they have gotten a job for less than 1 year, are continuing their studies or have had their own business as an entrepreneur,” he said .

He also conveyed the message that the most important thing is that graduates master the competencies of critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, compassion, computational logic, and so on which are very much needed in the era of disruption. This thinking is in line with the basic principles of education which essentially want to help alumni become independent, able to be independent and not dependent on other people. Of course, it must be remembered that being independent and independent is still in the corridor that humans are part of the community where they are.

“Hopefully the alumni can successfully carry out their duties in the community armed with the knowledge they have obtained while studying at ULM, hopefully they will be successful in bringing ULM’s good name, and making ULM proud in society,” he said.
