Field Assessment of Biology Education Major FKIP ULM.
Banjarmasin – The Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teaching and Education (FKIP), University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) received the arrival of two accreditation assessors from LAMDIK (Independent Accreditation Institute for Education) on Thursday (13/7/2023). The arrival was in the framework of a Field Assessment as a series of assessment processes to determine the accreditation rating of the Biology Study Program FKIP ULM. The assessors who came for this activity were Professors at Yogyakarta State University, Prof. Dr. Paidi, M.Sc., and Professor at Surabaya State University Prof. Dr. Yuliani, M.Sc.
The field assessment was attended and opened by the Rector of ULM, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si. the event was also attended by the Vice Rector of ULM for Academic Affairs, Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr. M.Kes., S.H., Sp.F; Chairman of the ULM Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), Prof. Agung Nugroho, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D.,; Dean of FKIP ULM, Dr. Drs. Sunarno Basuki, M. Kes. AIFO; Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) FKIP ULM, Prof. Dr. Atiek Winarti, M.Pd., M.Sc; Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Prof. Dr. Imam Yuwono, M.Pd .; Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Dr. Dwi Atmono, M.Pd., M.Si; Acting Commitment Maker (PPK) FKIP ULM, Dr. Drs. Chairil Faif Pasani, M.Si.,; Head of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Science Education (JPMIPA), Dr.Syahmani, M.Sc; Head of Biology Education Study Program, Prof. Dr. Aminuddin Prahatama Putra, M.Pd; lecturer staff in Biology Education Study Program; FKIP ULM Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) team, and other related parties.
The Field Assessor was carried out for 2 days and was divided into several sessions. On the first day, an interview and question and answer session was held with the assessor with UPPS (Study Program Management Unit). In interviews with UPPS, faculty leaders and UPM were accompanied by university leaders to answer questions related to leadership beliefs in achieving the mission and how the milestones were realized.
Take turns, the faculty leaders explain the various milestones that have been achieved and are about to be achieved. Among them are cooperation with ASEAN countries that have been going well such as student exchanges with universities in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. ULM also plans to carry out this collaboration to India. ULM has also collaborated on wetland research with universities in Malaysia.
In addition, the team of assessors also looked at the success of FKIP ULM, which was increasingly successful every year in streamlining the student study period, instead of taking it longer. Responding to this, the leadership also took turns explaining the results of the evaluation which showed that one of the things that made it difficult for students to graduate was the thesis work, so guidelines were made at the faculty level that regulated thesis guidance to make it more practical but still maintain quality. At the PT level itself, the policy of encouraging timely graduation strengthens efforts to streamline the study period.
The assessor said that the LED document that had been assessed was a very feasible document so that the AL functioned to check the required additional evidence or strengthen the evidence that had been attached to the LED. Hopefully the Biology Education Study Program will get the best accreditation score.
