ULM Rector Elected as Head of KPTN-KTI 2023-2025
Balikpapan – Rector of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., attended the Consortium Meeting of Members of the Consortium of State Universities in Eastern Indonesia (KPTN-KTI) where this year the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) was the host. The agenda was held at the Four Point Hotel Balikpapan, East Kalimantan for 2 days, namely 13-14 July 2023.
The KTI KPTN Deliberation is a joint forum consisting of 46 State Universities in Eastern Indonesia. This forum is an important forum for higher education leaders to build collaboration, discuss, and make joint decisions in order to face various challenges in the field of research development and higher education.
In this deliberation, the election of the Head of the Consortium for the 2023-2025 period was held. Through elections with a voting and democratic system, ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., was elected as Chair of the 2023-2025 KTI PTN Consortium, replacing the Rector of the University of Borneo Tarakan (UBT) Prof. Dr. Adri Patton, M.Si who has served for the 2021-2023 period.
In his remarks, the Rector of ULM as the elected Chair hopes that universities in eastern Indonesia can increase synergy and collaboration to become stronger and stronger so that they can unite thoughts and steps, set long-term strategies in order to realize higher education in eastern Indonesia that is dignified and equal to other universities. high in western Indonesia.
“One of the main concerns of universities in eastern Indonesia is how universities in eastern Indonesia have the same attitude and views towards IKN in East Kalimantan,” he said.
There are several programs that have been designed by the KPTN-KTI, including exchange programs for students, lecturers, and so on. With the implementation of these programs, it is hoped that they will be able to provide the best benefits for each tertiary institution, especially for the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) which is in eastern Indonesia, namely in East Kalimantan Province.
