Taking the Pharmacist Oath Class XII FMIPA ULM

Banjarbaru – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held an agenda for the Class XII Pharmacist Oath Taking on Wednesday (20/9/2023). The agenda was held at the Hortensia Ballroom, Roditha Hotel, Banjarbaru.

A total of 45 pharmacists took the oath led by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences ULM Dr. Drs. Abdul Ghafur, M.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., and witnessed directly by the Rector of ULM Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc.

This agenda was also attended by the Central Management of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association, represented by Deputy General Chair III PPIAI apt. Surya Wahyudi, S.Sc., MM., Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Health Service, represented by the Head of the Health Resources Division, and Chair of the Regional Management of the Provincial Indonesian Pharmacists Association. South Kalimantan apt Muhammad Reza Pahlevi, M.Farm.

apt. Surya Wahyudi in his speech said that currently the pharmacist profession has entered a new era after the passing of Health Law Number 17 of 2023. “From this law there have been many changes that inevitably we as health workers have to follow existing developments.” he said.

He also said that pharmacists are a unique profession in the health workforce, where usually health workers such as doctors and midwives have one core field of health services, while pharmacists have a fairly broad field of health services. “The government provides enormous opportunities for pharmacists, for example pharmacists can open a pharmacy independently, they can also build a company, or have a career in industry.” said apt. Sun.

Added to this are new regulations regarding drug classification, where there are new drug classes, namely certain classes of hard drugs where pharmacists have the authority to dispense them without a doctor’s prescription. However, the broad authority granted by the government certainly requires consequences, namely the responsibility of pharmacists to practice professionally and continue to improve their competence.

Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., at this event also had the opportunity to give a speech and congratulate the new pharmacists and their families. This pharmacist oath-taking was the first after the FMIPA ULM Pharmacist Professional Study Program received the title of Superior accreditation.

“As Rector, I really appreciate the achievements that have been achieved by MIPA and especially the Pharmacy study program and the Pharmacist Professional study program. “This is certainly clear evidence that FMIPA has a very high commitment to improving all study programs within FMIPA.” said the Rector.
