Inauguration of Five New Professors Encourages ULM’s Competitiveness to Become an Increasingly Advanced Higher Education at the National Level
Banjarmasin – Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Sc., again confirmed 5 (five) new professors. The inauguration event was held in the Hall on the 1st floor of the ULM Banjarmasin Rectorate Building on Wednesday (13/9/2023). The 5 (five) professors who were inaugurated were Prof. Dr. Sunarno Basuki, M.Kes., and Prof. Dr. Dra. Rabiatul Adawiah, M.Si from FKIP, Prof. Dr. Dr. Harapan Parlindungan Ringoringo, Sp.A(K) from the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ahmadi, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, and Prof. Laila Refiana Said, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., from the Faculty of Economics and Business.
In his speech, the Rector of ULM said that in the last 9 months ULM had succeeded in getting as many as 40 additional new professors. With this addition, ULM has around 111 professors whose decrees have been issued and are waiting to be confirmed.
“On this occasion we inaugurated 5 professors. “In the near future there will be a new Professorial Decree that will be issued,” said the Rector.
ULM’s achievement in adding professors was explained by the Rector as part of the strategic steps taken to improve the quality of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at ULM. The Rector believes that with the increasing number of professors that ULM has, in the future it will also improve the quality of research, education and community service at ULM.
“Better quality will of course encourage ULM’s competitiveness to become an increasingly advanced and developing higher education institution in the Republic of Indonesia,” said Prof. Ahmad.
The addition of ULM professors can also enable ULM to increase its doctoral study programs. Currently ULM has 8 doctoral programs (S3), with the increase in the number of professors, the Rector of ULM also stated the target of adding at least 4 (four) doctoral programs. “This is in order to prepare the human resources needed by our nation and state to move towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.
The five professors who were inaugurated by the ULM Chancellor on this occasion, namely Prof. Dr. Sunarno Basuki, MKes with a scientific oration “Implementation of Educational Supervision in the Independent Curriculum Era”. Prof. Dr. Dr. Harapan Parlindungan Ringoringo, Sp.A(K). with a scientific oration “Application of the Reference Range for Normal Values for Complete Peripheral Blood and Reticulocyte Parameters for Infants 0-12 Months and Efforts to Reduce the Prevalence of Iron Deficiency Anemia in Infants and Children”. Prof. Dr. Dra. Rabiatul Adawiah, M.Sc. with a scientific oration “Character Education Assessment Based on Pancasila Student Profiles”. Prof. Ahmadi, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D with a scientific oration “Phototaxis in Papuyu Fish (Anabas testudineus) and its Applications”. Prof. Laila Refiana Said, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D. with a scientific oration “University Branding: Strengthening the Brand Identification of Lambung Mangkurat University’s Wetland”.
