ULM Independent Entrepreneurial Grand Launching in 2023, ULM and 9 Universities Ready to Produce Young Entrepreneurs
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held the Grand Launching of the 2nd Batch of the Independent Entrepreneurship Program (WMK) on Monday (28/8/2023) at the Lecture Theatre, General Building ULM Banjarmasin. This year, ULM was again selected as the university organizer or facilitator of the Independent Entrepreneurship program where around 400 students consisting of students from ULM and 9 other universities will have the opportunity to learn and develop themselves to become potential entrepreneurs through joint activities outside of lecture classes.
This year’s WMK implementation has the theme Digital Entrepreneurship and ULM itself carries the theme “Suistanable Digital Entrepreneurship as the Implementation of Independent Entrepreneurship at the Gates of the National Capital.” In total there are four hundred students consisting of students from ULM and nine other universities, namely STIKIP Paris Barantai Kotabaru, Tanah Laut State Polytechnic, Sari Mulia University, Hasnur Polytechnic, Muhammadiyah University Banjarmasin, Ahmad Yani University, Balikpapan University and even outside the island of Kalimantan, namely from STKIP PGRI Sumenep and Makassar State University.
The 2023 ULM Independent Entrepreneurship Grand Launching agenda was officially opened by the ULM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si, and staff. Apart from the inauguration, on this occasion, booths were also displayed for students participating in WMK 2023 or alumni of WMK 2022 with various processed products and innovations.
The WMK event itself is expected to be able to produce student graduates who become brilliant entrepreneurs, who are part of the 4% of entrepreneurs in Indonesia as a developed country. At the end of the event, awards were also given to students who had the best caption, best stand and best product.
In this grand launching activity, there was also an entrepreneurship expo from Lambung, Mangkurat University and 2022 WMK alumni. Partners who were used as internship sites were also present. One semester of this activity will be converted into the number of credits in college.
Meanwhile, the Rector of ULM, Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri, said that this activity was attended by various universities in South Kalimantan and outside South Kalimantan. He explained that entrepreneurship and the present are inseparable from digitalization. “A few days ago BUMN went to campus and Lambung Mangkurat University was the host. BUMN’s agenda is how to process digitalization to be able to cover more advanced and more massive businesses. Of course, WMK can develop entrepreneurship by carefully mitigating business. Provide benefits for users and owners. Digitalization of risk control issues. “Apart from that, digitalization in business processes is taking place,” he said.
He called this type of independence a hero who is a person who is involved in the field of entrepreneurship, who can solve the problems of unemployment, poverty, and improve the welfare of society. Including, being able to reduce the number of social crimes. “Crimes are caused by economic problems. So if you become an entrepreneur, invest in serving the country to solve the nation’s problems of poverty, unemployment and low per capita income. Be an entrepreneur. “This will answer the nation’s challenges and support the development process,” concluded the Rector.
