University Level ON-MIPA Selection, Appreciation for Outstanding Students Will Be Increased
Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has started holding the 2023 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad (ON-MIPA) selection. The university-level selection was opened at the Lecture Theater General Building ULM Banjarmasin on Tuesday (14/3/2023). Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs of ULM Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si had the opportunity to give a speech directly to students who would take part in the ULM ON-MIPA selection. In his remarks, Dr. Rusmin expressed his appreciation to all students and lecturers who participated in this competency event.
Participants in the 2023 ULM ON-MIPA selection included 43 people in Mathematics, 56 people in Biology, 44 people in Chemistry, and 41 people in Physics. All of these participants will then be selected into 5 people in each field who will be sent as ULM representatives in regional selection.
On this occasion, the Vice Rector also conveyed that there was a plan to give appreciation to students who excel at university, regional and national levels. It is hoped that this appreciation will not only be in the form of money, but also in the form of conversion of credits, even up to the release of thesis or final project. Similar appreciation is also proclaimed for lecturers who become student advisors in competitions.
This appreciation is planned in order to motivate students and lecturers. “I hope yes, this activity gives full meaning to you. Encouraging ULM students to excel at the national level, so that the ULM student ranking system will be even better this year,” he said.
ON-MIPA is a student talent event held by the National Achievement Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. Every year ULM succeeds in sending students as representatives at the national level. There are 4 fields that are contested including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
