Cooperatives Will Become Important Pillars Towards PTN BLU
Banjarmasin, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E, M.Si attended the 44th Annual Member Meeting (RAT) for the 2022 Fiscal Year which was held on Thursday (16/02/2023) at the Hasan Bondan Hall FKIP ULM. This event was attended by the Dean of FKIP Dr. Chairil Faif Pasani, M.Sc., Head of the Banjarmasin City Cooperative and MSME Office, Dr. Suparno, Chairman of the Cooperative Association of employees of the Republic of Indonesia, South Kalimantan, and all members of the Tri Civitas ULM cooperative.
On this occasion also Mariatul Kiptiah, M.Pd as Chair of the KPRI Tri Civitas FKIP ULM submitted her report on the number of cooperative members, totaling 319 people, consisting of 156 men and 153 women. In addition, there are also developments in operation, namely the return of holiday savings in the 2022 financial year by 108 members.
The total assets owned by the Tri Civitas cooperative as of December 31, 2022 are 9,084,835,739.
“With this development as members of the cooperative should be proud, it is our great hope to be able to have a shared commitment to advance tri civitas cooperatives,” he said.
It is hoped that in the future this cooperative will be able to progress and be able to prosper the members involved in it. The Rector of ULM expressed his hope to be able to have only 1 Cooperative at ULM. Currently at ULM each Faculty has its own cooperative.
“With 1 cooperative we can have greater power to develop cooperatives in order to provide the best service to all academics at ULM,” he said.
This is also in line with ULM’s goal as a BLU State University which can have its own income by empowering its own resources. One of the challenges faced by ULM as a BLU tertiary institution is how ULM can have one line of business that is able to carry out overall capitalization of all aspects it has. ULM’s assets are optimally managed to contribute to increasing income (income generating) for ULM.
One way that ULM can do for income generating is by empowering existing cooperatives. This cooperative has been raised as a strength so that it is able to provide maximum benefits for ULM as a whole.
Prof. Ahmad hopes that all cooperatives can join into one unit that can handle all the needs needed by the ULM community, while at the same time increasing the income generating as targeted. One of the planned businesses includes the provision of catering services at University and Faculty events, as well as a printing business that can be provided by the ULM Cooperative in the future.
