Dr. (HC) M. Jusuf Kalla Appointed Rector as Member of PMI Kalsel Honorary Council

Rector of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., was appointed as a member of the PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) Honorary Council of South Kalimantan Province for the 2022-2027 period. The Rector of ULM along with other members of the PMI Honorary Council were appointed directly by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Red Cross who was also the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2004-2009 and 2014-2019 periods Dr. (HC) Drs. H. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla on Wednesday (18/01/2023 at the Mahligai Pancasila Building, Banjarmasin.

The Chairperson of PMI in his remarks conveyed a number of PMI’s main tasks and principles. PMI as a humanitarian organization has the principle of helping anyone who experiences calamity or disaster. “We have the principle that when someone experiences a disaster, then help from PMI must be received within 6 hours,” said Drs. Jusuf Kalla.

Governor of South Kalimantan Dr. (HC). H. Sahbirin Noor, M.H., was also present on this occasion and said that PMI has the principle of providing assistance regardless of class. The Governor also said that the movement carried out by PMI was a glorious movement.

PMI South Kalimantan for the 2022 – 2027 period is chaired by H. Gusti Iskandar Sukma Alamsyah, SE, MM, Secretary Syarifani Syabarhan and Treasurer Lill Irianti Mala. Furthermore, the Chairperson of the PMI Kalsel Honorary Council was occupied by DR. (HC) H. Suplan HK, SH, MH., Secretary of Gusti Perdana Kesuma, and 6 of its members, namely ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., Regent of Tabalong Dr. Drs. H. Anang Syakhfiani, M.Si, Regent of Tanah Laut Drs. H. Muhammad Sukamta, Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare of the South Kalimantan Regional Secretariat Ir. H. Nurul Fajar Desira, CES. Head of South Kalimantan Provincial Health Office dr. H. Diauddin, M. Kes, and Tidarta Trikadibusana, SH.
