ULM Provides Business Assistance to Student Entrepreneurship Program
Banjarmasin – Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, S.E., M.Sc., held an agenda for Handing Over Business Assistance for the Entrepreneurial Student Program (PMW) and Development of Entrepreneurial Students at Lambung Mangkurat University on Friday (15/09/2023) in Hall 1, Floor 1, ULM Banjarmasin Rectorate.
Also present at this event was the Academic Bureau for Student and Alumni Affairs, Vice  Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Totok Wianto, S.Si, M.Si (PiC ULM Entrepreneurship Program), Dr. Irwansyah, S.Sos., M.Si (Chair of CEDC ULM), Monry Fraick Nicky Gillian Ratumbuysang, M.Pd (PiC ULM Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW) 2023), Akhsanul Rahmatullah, S.E., M.E. (PiC Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) in 2023), Coordinator of the Student and Alumni Development Section, Sub-Division Sub-Coordinator. Student Welfare, and Subdivision Sub-Coordinator. Alumni and Students Recipient of Business Assistance from the Entrepreneurial Student Program (PMW) and Entrepreneurship Student Development at Lambung Mangkurat University.
In his speech, the Vice Rector expressed his pride and appreciation for the students who were selected from 9 groups to be trained as entrepreneurs, given assistance to carry out their business ventures. He admitted that this entrepreneurship program was an independent program carried out by ULM which was funded directly by ULM. “This is a form of ULM’s anticipation now and in the future, that ULM will support students who are active in the field of entrepreneurship,” he said.
Dr. Rusmin added that there are many kinds of programs related to entrepreneurship that ULM students have participated in. The coaching program for Independent Entrepreneurs itself was attended by approximately 400 participants, of which 60% were students from ULM. In the future, many other entrepreneurial activities will be formed at ULM.
“This is planned by ULM in order to foster an entrepreneurial spirit in students from an early age so that later they can be independent, not only hoping to get job vacancies but can create jobs for many people and can contribute to regional development,” said Dr. Rusmin.
Not only that, with the implementation of this program it is also hoped that it can overcome the problem of poverty in certain areas and reduce the unemployment rate. This is also related to an increase in the university’s KPI which can be influenced by the number of student graduates who are entrepreneurs.
The Vice Rector hopes that this program can change students’ mindsets so they can become agents of change in the future. On this day, entrepreneurial student coaching will also be carried out by resource persons brought in by ULM specifically to assist student recipients of assistance on how to properly manage the funds received and how to improve branding so that it becomes capital for the future.
“So this business assistance is not very large, only around 5 million. This is for initial business capital. Please make good use of it. “So today’s aid recipients will not only be given aid but will be involved in several training programs.” he added.
