Dissemination of the May 2023 Edition of the Provincial Economic Report: Encouraging the Downstreaming of Natural Resources in South Kalimantan
Banjarmasin – Rector of the Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc attended the May 2023 Edition of the Dissemination of the Economic Report for the Province of South Kalimantan on Tuesday (25/07/2023) in the Hall of the Rectorate Floor 1. This activity was carried out in order to encourage the downstreaming of Natural Resources in the Province of South Kalimantan which held in collaboration between Bank Indonesia South Kalimantan Province, ULM, and the Association of Indonesian Economic Scholars
Present at the event Head of Bank Indonesia Representative for South Kalimantan Province Wahyu Pratomo as well as giving a presentation, Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development of the Regional Secretariat of South Kalimantan Province, Head of the Planning Division of the Bank of South Kalimantan, Head of Bank BNI, Head of Cooperatives and SMEs, Chair of the Indonesian economics undergraduate association and students in the ULM environment.
This activity was led by Sistya Reisanti as the moderator, aiming to explain how the influence of economic and political dynamics in Indonesia during 2023 and all will be summarized in today’s economic dissemination report.
Wahyu Pratomo in his remarks thanked the Rector of ULM for his willingness to provide a place to hold this event considering that this agenda is important for BI.
“BI’s mandate in the regions, apart from controlling inflation, is to provide maximum support for economic development in South Kalimantan,” said the Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for South Kalimantan Province.
According to him, one of the things being done is to carry out analysis and studies related to the economy in South Kalimantan and to do it in a sustainable manner. Bank Indonesia is given the task every 3 months to provide analytical recommendations to the Board of Governors in Jakarta regarding economic developments, inflation and also relevant themes that can be discussed in each activity, for example the theme regarding downstream in this activity. Apart from that, Bank Indonesia has also been entrusted with conveying information to friends in the province of South Kalimantan so that it can provide benefits for sustainable economic development in the region.
In his speech, the Rector believed that this activity was an encouragement to achieve a better South Kalimantan. Our hope is to achieve good economic growth in the current conditions.
“Talking about the regional economy cannot be separated from the dynamics of national and global economic development,” said the Rector in his remarks.
Later, this activity will be carried out regularly at least once every 3 months. After this activity takes place there will be a media talk with the Rector so that it becomes a medium for communicating matters related to the economy in the area of South Kalimantan Province.
