The Rector Conveys the Preparations of POMNAS XVIII to Menpora
JAKARTA – Rector of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M, Si who was accompanied by the Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si met with the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo in the Graha Pemuda Work Room, Floor 10, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (7/6/2023).
The Rector’s visit was in order to report on preparations for the XVIII National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) 2023 which will be held in November, where the South Kalimantan Province will host with ULM as the host. The Rector also asked for support from the Menpora Dito for this sports activity which was attended by students from all over Indonesia.
Menpora Dito welcomed the report and invited the public, especially residents of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, to support and witness the event. “The Ministry of Youth and Sports certainly supports every activity of young people, including this POMNAS. The people of South Kalimantan, especially Banjarmasin, don’t miss a cool event at ULM called POMNAS, let’s all attend and give support,” said Menpora Dito.
The Menpora also stressed the importance of massive socialization and promotion so that the national event which was attended by student representatives from various universities in Indonesia could be known by the wider community. “Please coordinate and communicate with Kemenpora for promotion and socialization, so that this event will not be missed by the public. It’s a shame if the national event is not widely known by the public,” he said.
In addition, the Menpora also suggested that ULM could play a role in organizing Youth Entrepreneurship Lectures (Kuliah Wira Muda), which is a program from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to create young entrepreneurs from among students. “Kemenpora has a Young Wira program, try to harmonize it with ULM, so that the youth and sports fields can run together,” he added.
Previously, the Rector of ULM said that the POMNAS in November would be preceded by a Grand Launching this June. The Rector hopes that the Menpora will be willing to attend and provide motivation at the opening ceremony of the National Sports Week. “The Minister, as a millennial minister we ask for your presence at the Grand Launching of POMNAS at ULM, we will adjust the time for this June,” said the Rector.
“At POMNAS XVII 2022 at UNP West Sumatra, there were around 7,000 participants, hopefully at ULM South Kalimantan there will be more than 10,000 from all universities in Indonesia. Hopefully it can give birth to talented athletes, please pray and support, “he hoped.
