Student Work Readiness Workshop for the Indonesia Bright Future Leader Program
Banjarmasin – Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (CEDC) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) in collaboration with the Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN) held a Work Readiness Workshop on Monday (30/5/2023). The workshop, which was intended for students receiving the Indonesia Bright Future Leader (IBFL) scholarship program, was held in the 1st floor hall of the ULM Rectorate Building, Banjarmasin.
Chairman of CEDC ULM Dr. Irwansyah, S.Sos., M.Sc., stated that this workshop aims to help students or alumni to have work readiness. Among the things that students need to know are what to do and how to prepare for the world of work. The readiness of students to face the world of work is very important considering that currently higher education institutions are required to meet the Main Performance Indicators (IKU), one of which assesses the work readiness of its graduates.
Dr. Irwansyah also hopes that holding this workshop will help students prepare for entering the world of work. He sees that one of the weaknesses of today’s fresh graduates is their lack of experience when following procedural matters when making job applications and when having to face psychological tests.
The work preparation workshop presented 2 (two) speakers, including the Human Resource & General Affairs Division Head of PT Adaro Indonesia, Syahka Abiaji and a psychologist from the ULM Competency Assessment Service Center (PPAK) M. Syarif Hidayatullah, M.Psi. It is hoped that the presence of these resource persons will provide provisions related to the preparation and process of entering the world of work.
