IKA Faculty of Forestry Encourages Sustainable Economic and Environmental Development
Banjarbaru – The inauguration of the ULM Faculty of Forestry Alumni Association was held at the Faculty of Forestry, Lambung Mangkurat University on Saturday (13 May 2023). This inauguration was represented by the General Secretary of IKA Drs. Muhammad Ary Achdyani, M.A.P. This event was held based on the Decree of the Chairperson of the ULM Faculty of Forestry Alumni Association Number: 001/Kep-IKA/Fahutan.ULM/2023 concerning the Formation of the Board of Management of the ULM Faculty of Forestry Alumni Association Simpul Center for the 2023-2028 Service Period on March 20, 2023.
This event was attended by ULM Rector Prof. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Forestry Dr. Kissinger, S.Hut.,M.Si, and lecturers from the Faculty of Forestry. One of the pillars that determine the success of a PTN is alumni, therefore the role of alumni in the development and development of ULM, especially the Faculty of Forestry, is a very important strategy to always maintain.
According to the Rector of ULM, the Faculty of Forestry has made extraordinary achievements at the national level and hopes that similar achievements can be achieved by other faculties. “One indicator of the active performance of faculty and university alumni, can be seen through the alumni network which is more progressive to move, especially alumni in certain positions in ministries in various aspects. Alumni also play a role in absorbing new graduates into the world of work.” said the Rector.
Therefore, the Rector of ULM said that support for alumni must also be aligned with the important role of alumni for the sustainable development in Indonesia, especially at ULM. “We don’t yet have an alumni building for the alumni movement for East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, frantic, Central Kalimantan. I’m sure the alumni building will be built. If it’s well collaborated, we’ll create a Rector program to greet alumni. This year we have formed IKA nodes in each of the Kalimantan regional provinces, and we are inviting the general meeting, not just expelling alumni,” added the Rector.
Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Kissinger, S.Hut., M.Sc., also hopes that IKA can be part of sustainable development in Indonesia so that it can contribute to the economy and the environment, with IKA, alumni can show they have extraordinary dedication to the environment by greening Indonesia , The motto conveyed by the chairperson and the IKA is a strong determination for the economic and environmental fields in sustainable development. In addition, alumni are expected to contribute to economic development at least for the economy of the alumni themselves, such as providing information and job opportunities towards alumni below in the future.
