The Soft Launching of XVIII POMNAS was held
Banjarmasin – University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) proudly held the soft launching of the XVIII POMNAS in 2023 at the ULM Rectorate Courtyard on Tuesday (30/5/23). This event is a series of the XVIII POMNAS which will be held next October. South Kalimantan especially ULM is believed to be the host for the second time.
The event was attended by ULM Chancellor Prof Ahmad, Deputy Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Sc, Head of South Kalimantan Sports and Sports Hermansyah, Cooperatives and SMEs, Head of the National Achievement Center Hendarman, Head of the Indonesian Talent Development Center Asep Supmayadi, Secretary General of BAPOMI Center management Apri Yudianto, Expert Staff for Community and Human Resources Affairs Husnul Khatimah and others
The Chancellor of ULM admitted that since South Kalimantan was entrusted with receiving the Pomnas banner in Padang in 2022, the trust given by the Governor of South Kalimantan to ULM was enormous in order to prepare for this event as well as possible. In addition, ULM as the largest university in South Kalimantan feels capable and appropriate to host the XVIII POMNAS.
The Chancellor of ULM said he was proud to be the host of this event. We hope that by holding this event in South Kalimantan, it can become a strategic momentum for the development of the South Kalimantan development program. “This is a pride for South Kalimantan as the host. Hopefully this event will be successful,” said the Chancellor
It is believed that the presence of all National Pomnas participants, which are estimated to number 10,000 in South Kalimantan, will support the South Kalimantan provincial government’s program, namely the successful year of the South Kalimantan visit. This will certainly improve the regional economy, especially in the tourism and MSME sectors.
Hendarman in his remarks also thanked the Provincial Government and ULM for being willing to accept the relay for the implementation of the XVIII POMNAS. He appreciated the readiness of the Regional Government of the Province of South Kalimantan, especially ULM as the host for the event which will be held in July for the Grand Launching. “This is the extraordinary readiness of ULM and the local government,” he said.
The National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) is a national level (interprovincial) sports competition for Diploma and Undergraduate tertiary students in Indonesia which is held every two years by the Student Sports Advisory Board (BAPOMI) apart from at the provincial, ASEAN and world levels.
The purpose of holding POMNAS is to increase and develop students’ sports interests and talents, improve physical fitness, discipline and sportsmanship of students, improve and develop student sports achievements, assist the government in improving and developing national and international sports achievements, and so on.
Later, a total of 16 sports will be competed in this event including athletics, rock climbing, swimming, karate, wrestling, taekwondo, tennis, kempo, chess, pencak silat, bridge, takraw, futsal, badminton, basketball and soccer. sand volleyball. The grand launching is planned to be held in June.
