Visitation 2 of the ULM New Doctoral Study Program
Banjarmasin, University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) received a Doctoral Field visitation for the Social Studies and Indonesian Language Study Programs on Thursday (30/03/2023). This field visit is in order to increase the number of doctoral programs available at ULM. Present at the ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri., S.E., M.Si, Deputy Rector I Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr., M.Kes., Sp.F., SH, Representative of the Institutional Director, Head of LLDIKTI region XI Dr. Muhammad Akbar, Postgraduate Director of ULM and his staff, Chair of LPM, Chair of LP3, and a team of assessors from various universities in Indonesia including Prof. Dr. Paulina Pannen, M.I.S (Open University), Prof. Syafnil Arsyad., M.S., PhD (Bengkulu University), Prof. Dr. Rusdi, M.Sc, M.Sc (Jambi University), Prof. Dr. Nurhayati, M.Pd (Sriwijaya University), Prof. Dr. Reiza Dienaputra, M.Hum (Padjadjaran University), Prof. Dr. Eko Hadi Sujiono, M.Si (Makassar State University).
The Rector feels very grateful for the presence of the assessors who have repeatedly evaluated the opening of the Doctoral Program at ULM and even 2 study programs at the same time, namely Social Studies Education and Indonesian Language. Because this is a visitation in the context of opening the social studies and Indonesian language doctoral programs, both are one of the study programs that have a very strategic role in the framework of developing human resources. The Chancellor also hopes that today’s visitation will be able to see between the Vision of the University of Lambung Mangkurat and the Vision of the faculties and study programs where the Doctoral education program will be built. As ULM’s vision is “The realization of ULM as a leading and competitive university in the field of wetland environment.”
The Rector expects support from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in order to make ULM a world class in a wetland environment. Currently, ULM already has a center for the development of wetlands and their animals, namely Curiak Island, but according to the Rector of ULM this is not enough because there is still a potential of 3,000 hectares of mangrove forest in South Kalimantan which can be used as a center for research activities and mangrove forest restoration for ecosystems that are sustainable in certain areas
