South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Participates in Celebrating the Series of Activities for the 65th ULM Anniversary
BANJARMASIN – Welcoming the 65th Anniversary on September 21 2023, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a healthy walk on the ULM campus, Saturday (16/9/2023). The healthy walk was attended by thousands of ULM academics, including South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Andi Rian R Djajadi and the ULM Alumni Family Association (IKA). Apart from the healthy walk, there were also groundbreaking activities for the struggle monument and planting ironwood trees in the campus area located in the Kayutangi area, Banjarmasin. The groundbreaking was carried out by Rector Prof Ahmad Alim Bachri, Chairman of IKA HG (P) Gusti Rusdi Effendy AR and Inspector General of Police Andi Rian R Djajadi.
The Rector said that the laying of the first stone was clear proof that ULM is a campus of struggle.
“There are two national figures who were born from ULM. “The two figures are also national heroes, namely Brigadier General H Hasan Basri and Hasanuddin Madjedie,” he said, after laying the first stone. Apart from that, he continued, it is hoped that the groundbreaking and planting of ironwood trees will be a symbol that ULM will continue to grow. “Continue to grow to become the best university in the country in the future,” he said.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Pol Andi hopes that on the 65th ULM Anniversary, this university can become a forum for uniting all elements of society.
“As the Regional Police Chief, I certainly hope that ULM can be part of maintaining a conducive security and social security situation in South Kalimantan, especially facing the 2024 elections,” he said briefly.
In order to welcome the 65th Anniversary of ULM, various competitions were held including table tennis, badminton, mini soccer and tennis court and on this occasion a symbolic presentation of prizes was held to all the winners. The event was very lively and filled with ULM academics and their families who took part in a leisurely walk accompanied by a marching band, adding to the excitement of the trip. The Chancellor hopes that this activity can prove the synergy between the ULM academic community.
“Thank God, we have proven today that we are able to sit together, synergize and collaborate for a dignified ULM,” he said.
