Coordination Meeting to Prepare ASIIN International Accreditation
Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) continues to be committed and in the process of improving the quality of education in order to support the improvement of the quality of human resources in Indonesia, especially in the Province of South Kalimantan. One of the efforts made by ULM includes encouraging faculties and study programs to obtain international accreditation, one of which is ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs In Engineering Informatics/Computer Science, The Natural Sciences and Mathematics) accreditation.
Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr. M.Kes., Sp.F., S.H. and four study programs from two faculties that were preparing for international accreditation held a coordination meeting in preparation for the visitation from ASIIN. Taking place in the Senate Meeting Room, 3rd floor of the ULM Rectorate Building, were present the Dean and Deputy Deans from the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Forestry, as well as coordinators and secretaries from the Soil Science study program, Agribusiness study program, Agricultural Industrial Technology study program, and Forestry study program.
In this meeting, Dr. Iwan conveyed that all heads of study programs and faculties explained the activities that had been carried out in the process of preparing for accreditation as well as the obstacles. “We need to understand our current condition so we can determine the steps and strategies that need to be taken to make International Accreditation successful,” said Dr. Ivan.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si in this agenda also had the opportunity to provide some input to the coordination meeting participants. On this occasion, he conveyed that the accreditation process can be optimally prepared. The Rector said that the University would prepare a budget to support the achievement of obtaining international accreditation within ULM. “Map the problems one by one from all existing aspects, then determine the budget needed to overcome them,” said Prof. Ahmad to the heads of faculties and study programs.
Obtaining international scale accreditation is also the Rector’s target for ULM to achieve, especially after ULM officially becomes a PTN-BLU (Public Service Agency). Therefore the Rector advised that efforts to obtain international accreditation by the four study programs above were the beginning of international accreditation of other study programs and faculties within ULM. The Rector hopes that all ULM academics can collaborate and synergize with each other to achieve the targets that have been designed, one of which is obtaining international accreditation.
