ULM Faculty of Forestry Field Work Practices are Conducted at KHDTK
Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Forestry released 192 students to carry out KKN in Forest Friends with Special Purposes (KHDTK) Tahura Mandiangin on Tuesday (04/07/2023). This activity began with the opening ceremony of the 2023 Faculty of Forestry Field Work Practice which was opened directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry Dr. Kissinger, S. Hut., M.Sc., also attended the Chairperson of the 2023 Faculty of Forestry KKN Dr. Ir. Muhammad Nafarin M.M, Chairman and Secretary of the ULM Faculty of Forestry Senate Prof. Syarifudiin Kadir, Head of KHDTK Dr. Ir. H. Muhammad Helmy, Professor of the Faculty of Forestry, and all the street vendors committee.
This activity was attended by 192 students or street vendor participants by empowering 16 assistants. Chief Executive of Street Vendors Dr. Ir. Muhammad Nafarin said this activity was an event for students to develop their competence. After the knowledge and experience they got in lectures, now is the time to go directly into the field to empower all the potential that exists within the participants. “Make this practice event a place to build competence in the forestry sector.” he added
Field Work Practice (PKL) is a compulsory subject for students which is a form of organizing education and training activities by working directly, systematically and directed with competent supervision. Street vendors are implemented to meet the needs of a professional workforce and it is hoped that they will apply the knowledge gained, as well as be able to be practiced by street vendor participants in the world of work
Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has obtained a permit to manage Forest Areas with a Special Purpose (Forestry Education and Training Forest) in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number SK.900/Menlhk/Setjen/PLA.0/12/2016 dated 6 December 2016 concerning Designation of Forest Areas with Special Purposes (KHDTK) in the Mount Waringin and Babaris Mountains Forest Groups located in Karang Intan District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province.
This is in line with what was conveyed by the Head of KHDTK Dr. Ir. H. Muhammad Helmy who stated that KHDTK is managed with a special purpose, one of which is a place to carry out practices. He even plans to build a special place, baraka or something like that for the convenience of future practice activities.
