ULM Students Study Fiscal Policy with the Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Suahasil Nazara, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D

Banjarmasin – Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Public Lecture with the theme “Fiscal Policy Synergy in Encouraging Economic Transformation Towards an Advanced Indonesia”. This event was held at the Lecture Theater FEB ULM on Friday (29/9/2023). Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Suahasil Nazara, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D, was present as a speaker in this public lecture. Hundreds of Lambung Mangkurat University students attended and listened to the material provided.
Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si., together with the Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si., was present directly at this event.
In his speech, the Rector of ULM expressed his appreciation for holding this public lecture. Especially on the theme presented where the Vice Minister of Finance will provide advice in the context of updating knowledge in the field of economic development in Indonesia and the world which is currently taking place.
“As a Rector, I hope that one day the Vice Minister of Finance will be willing to be a guest lecturer to lecture in the economics doctoral program at ULM,” he said during his remarks.
In the material presented, Prof. Suahasil explains the condition of the Indonesian economy after being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. After approximately 3 years of dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic, Prof. Suahasil said that Indonesia is one of the countries with the fastest economic recovery. “The Covid-19 pandemic caused a deep contraction globally. “Indonesia and India are among those that recovered the fastest, even though they are faced with a geopolitical crisis,” he said.
This public lecture was moderated by Professor of the ULM Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. M. Handry Imansyah, MAM, Ph.D. The material presented by the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. The results include:
- A look back at the economy and fiscal policy;
- Latest economic developments;
- Fiscal reform to realize development vision and ideals;
- Policy synergy to encourage economic transformation; And
- The role of the academic community in development.
