KSR PMI ULM Unit Holds Blood Donation to Celebrate the 30th Anniversary
Banjarmasin – In order to welcome the 30th Anniversary, the volunteer corps (KSR) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) unit of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) sub unit of Banjarmasin, held a blood donation action in collaboration with PMI Banjarmasin City, Thursday (22/6/2023) ). The donor activity, which took place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the theme “Building Togetherness Creates Concern”, received extraordinary enthusiasm from the participants.
The activity was held at the PMI KSR headquarters, ULM Banjarmasin unit. During the activity, students were seen collecting data on donors, followed by checking the donor’s health by PMI Banjarmasin city, then when the donor was declared ready after the health check, then proceed with blood donation which was handled by professionals.
The head of the organizing committee for the 30th Anniversary event, Zulfa Nifa Safitri, revealed that this activity was part of their work program. Their minimum target is at least 50 blood bags collected in the first activity in the framework of this 30th anniversary. According to Fitri, the donated blood will then be distributed to the PMI Banjarmasin Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD). To keep donated blood sterile. “As a form of dedication also to provide assistance to those who need blood in special hospitals in Banjarmasin and its surroundings, apart from helping other people donate blood, it is also very beneficial for the health of our bodies,” he said.
Muhammad Yusuf, one of the donors, said that this was the fifth time he had donated blood. “In my opinion, donating blood is charity to help others, many of our brothers need blood, so we need to give alms,” said the ULM student. In the second series tomorrow they plan to have joint PMR exercises assisted by the KSR PMI ULM unit, then there will be activities at the peak of the anniversary on Monday night.
