ULM to ULM BRT Route Trial
Rector of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc., Dean of the ULM Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Ir. Iphan Fitrian Radam, ST., MT., IPU., Head of general staffing of the South Kalimantan Province Transportation Service Deddy Hariyanto, ST and Head of General Affairs and Finance Bureau Akhmad Iskandar, S.Pd, M.Pd reviewed the implementation of the BRT bus trial for the ULM Campus Route Banjarmasin – Banjarbaru in the ULM Banjarmasin campus environment, Thursday (05/01/2023).
Dean of FT ULM Prof. Dr. Ir. Iphan Fitrian Radam, ST., MT., IPU on this occasion explained that the trial of the BRT Bus route was an implementation of transportation service assistance from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government to ULM related to the high intensity of movement between ULM campuses. He also explained that in this trial several things met the requirements, especially in the turning radius and curbside of the bus stop plan.
However, he added that there were still a number of things that needed to be improved to support future services. “The stop point as a place for passengers to get off/on as soon as possible is given a minimum of a bus stop sign, provides a place/waiting room at the starting/ending point of movement on campus, and no less important is internal socialization.” he said.
Meanwhile, plans for stops within the campus have been mapped out and there are six points that have the potential to generate movement, namely Lambung Mangkurat Medical Center (LMMC), simp. BNI, in front of the Rectorate, Simp. Poliban, Simp. FISIP, and Postgraduate Building. In the future the ULM to ULM route will become the definitive route to support transportation services for both the campus community and the general public.
