Banjarmasin — Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again demonstrated significant research and community service performance. In 2026, despite intense competition due to the increasing number of proposals submitted by lecturers across Indonesia, 107 research proposals from ULM were successfully selected for funding through various schemes within the Research and Development Funding Program of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

This achievement reflects the improvement in ULM’s academic quality and competitiveness at the national level. Of this total, the funding schemes include 19 research projects for Beginning Lecturers (PDP), 7 new and 7 advanced research projects under the Regular Fundamental Research (PFR) scheme, 4 new and 7 advanced research projects under the Doctoral Dissertation Research (PPS-PDD) scheme, and 22 Master’s Thesis Research (PPS-PTM). In addition, there were three PROTOTYPE research projects, one Applied Research – Model Output (PT-LM), and three Applied Research – Prototype Output (PT-LP).

Under the collaborative and strategic scheme, ULM also received three SINERGI proposals and one RIKUB proposal. Meanwhile, in the area of community service (PKM), ULM’s achievements were no less significant, with 22 PKM proposals, two Beginner Community Empowerment (PMP) proposals, one Nusantara Arts Innovation Program (PISN) proposal, and one follow-up proposal each for Fostered Village Empowerment (PDB) and one follow-up proposal for Empowering Regional Superior Product Business Partners (PM-UPUD). Furthermore, three Bestari proposals were successfully funded.

ULM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Si., stated that these achievements are the result of consistent, planned improvements in the quality of research and community service.

“This is not a sudden achievement. We systematically built a research ecosystem, starting from strengthening lecturers’ capacity to more focused proposal management,” he said.

The Head of the ULM Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Prof. Ir. Sunardi, S.Si., M.Sc, Ph.D., echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that this success is inseparable from the ongoing development strategy.

“Every year, LPPM consistently holds research and community service coaching clinics. These activities provide a space for intensive coaching for lecturers in developing competitive proposals that are relevant to national needs,” he explained.

LPPM Secretary, Dr. Ir. Yuslena Sari, added that the approach focuses not only on quantity but also on the quality of output.

“We ensure that every submitted proposal has the potential for real impact, both in the development of science and in solving problems in society,” she emphasized.

This achievement also confirms ULM’s position as a university that excels not only academically but also in providing real solutions through research and community service. With a structured and sustainable development strategy, ULM continues to strengthen its role as an impactful campus, in line with national policy directions for strengthening research and innovation.

Going forward, ULM aims to improve the quality of interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen the downstreaming of research results, so that the university’s contribution to regional and national development becomes more tangible and measurable.
