Inauguration of Six ULM Professors, Rector Appreciates and Encourages Broader Contributions to the Nation

Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held an Open Senate Session to inaugurate six professors at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium on Tuesday (March 31, 2026). This event served as a crucial opportunity to strengthen academic capacity and affirm ULM’s role as a continuously evolving higher education institution.

The six professors inaugurated came from various strategic areas of expertise. On this occasion, each professor delivered a scientific oration reflecting their scientific contributions to addressing the challenges of the times. The following is a list of the ULM professors inaugurated on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).

1. Prof. Dr. Ali Rachman, M.Pd., Professor of Guidance and Counseling Evaluation, delivered a scientific oration entitled “The ADIEF Model: A Framework for Basic Service Evaluation in Strengthening Guidance and Counseling Governance Accountability.”
2. Prof. Dr. Syaharuddin, S.Pd., M.A., Professor specializing in Social Studies Learning Strategies, delivered a scientific oration entitled “Integration of Religious (Moral) Education and Social Studies Education: A Strategy for Building a Values-Based Generation Z in the Digital Era.”
3. Prof. Dr. Drs. Syahmani, M.Si., Professor specializing in the Development of Metacognition-Based Chemistry Learning Models. Delivered a scientific oration entitled “Preparing a Generation of Problem Solvers and Reflective Students through In-Depth Learning.”
4. Prof. Dr. Drs. Chairil Faif Pasani, M.Si., Professor specializing in Values ​​and Character Education. Delivered a scientific oration entitled “The Urgency of Mathematical and Character Values ​​in 21st-Century Learning (Concepts and Stages of Internalizing Character Values ​​in Mathematics Learning).”
5. Prof. Dr. Ir. Fatmawati, M.Si., Professor specializing in Fish Health Management. Delivering a scientific oration entitled “Transformation of Fish Health Management: Efforts to Achieve Sustainable and Competitive Aquaculture”
6. Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Jauhari, MP, Professor specializing in Forest Planning, delivered a scientific oration entitled “Digital Transformation of Carbon-Based Sustainable Forest Management at KHDTK ULM – Closing the Capacity Gap, Towards Net Zero Emissions.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si., in his remarks emphasized that becoming a professor is the culmination of an academic journey, achieved not only through individual hard work but also through the support of various parties, especially family.

“I express my appreciation and gratitude to all the families of the professors inaugurated today. Family support is one of the main factors that leads to the success of an academic reaching this highest position,” he said.

The Rector also added that this success is the result of prayers, support, and togetherness that have been built over a long period.

“What has been achieved today is the answer to prayers and hopes that have been expressed. Hopefully, this achievement will bring blessings, not only to the professors themselves, but also to their extended families,” he added.

He further emphasized that the inauguration of professors is not the end of the journey, but rather the starting point for making broader contributions to the development of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

“Becoming a professor at ULM is not the end, but rather the starting point for continuing to make greater contributions. We hope that the inaugurated professors can strengthen the quality of education, research, and community service,” he added.

This inauguration activity is expected to motivate lecturers, especially the younger generation, to continue improving their qualifications and achieve the highest academic positions. With the increasing number of professors, ULM is optimistic that it can continue to develop as a superior and competitive university, while making real contributions to regional and national development.
