Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again achieved a proud achievement by earning the Excellence Award in the SIMKATMAWA 2025 assessment. This achievement places ULM as a Cluster I university with over 7,000 students and a total score of over 1,000, demonstrating ULM’s consistency in delivering high-quality, superior, and impactful student governance.

SIMKATMAWA (Higher Education Student Performance and Governance Information System) is a national assessment instrument administered by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. In 2025, the documents assessed will be achievements from 2024, based on key performance indicators (KPI) in three aspects:

  1. Student Institutions
  2. Independent Activities (Non-Competition Achievements and Recognition)
  3. Directorate of Student Affairs Activities

The more complete and high-quality the data submitted, the greater its contribution to the final SIMKATMAWA score.

“Every reported activity must be accompanied by strong supporting data, such as certificates, activity photos, social media documentation, student assignment letters, and assignment letters from supervisors. Furthermore, achievements such as first-third place at least at the provincial level, student work used by industry or the community, and international competency certification are important points in the assessment,” said Abdurrahim Alimin, the PIC of SIMKATMAWA.

The Excellence predicate achieved by ULM is clear evidence of the university’s commitment to providing student services that are not only administrative but also strategic and have a direct impact on developing student potential. This achievement demonstrates that ULM is not only focused on academic quality, but also committed to comprehensively improving student achievement, competency, and experience.

Through various interest and talent development programs, competition coaching, entrepreneurial mentoring, and facilitation of non-academic activities, ULM continues to build a campus ecosystem that encourages student growth, creativity, and achievement.

As part of its long-term commitment, ULM continues to strengthen student data governance through the development of the Student Information System (SIMAWA), which is now integrated with ULM’s SIMARI. This integration ensures that student achievement data is stored neatly and structured and can be utilized for various purposes, including the preparation of Diploma Accompanying Certificates (SKPI).

This database strengthening effort provides a crucial foundation for the following year’s SIMKATMAWA assessment and facilitates students’ independent and transparent access to their track record of achievements.

This achievement underscores ULM’s commitment to continuously providing student services oriented toward quality, innovation, and usefulness. ULM believes that students are the center of the university’s progress, and every policy and program is geared towards supporting them in achieving their full potential.

By achieving the Excellence Predicate in SIMKATMAWA 2025, ULM not only demonstrates the quality of its nationally recognized student governance but also further affirms its position as a university that fosters the development of a competent, creative, and globally competitive young generation.

This achievement serves as both motivation and a reminder that ULM will continue to move forward to facilitate, assist, and inspire the entire academic community in achieving their best.
