Very, Rodhiyatam, and M. Chandra Win First Place at the 2025 ICOMPRO International Scientific Competition
Semarang– Students from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) have once again achieved a brilliant achievement on the international stage. A team from the ULM Faculty of Agriculture won first place in the International Scientific Paper category at the 2025 International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research and Optimization (ICOMPRO), held by Padjadjaran University (Unpad) on October 22–24, 2025.
The team, consisting of Very Apta Santanan (Agribusiness 2023), Rodhiyatam Mardhiyah (Agricultural Industrial Technology 2023), and M. Chandra Adi Saputra (Agronomy 2023), captured the attention of an international panel of judges with their scientific paper entitled “Formulation of Nagara Tuber Analog Rice Fortified with Moringa Leaves and Snakehead Fish Flour.”
In this research, the ULM team developed an analog rice innovation based on sweet potato, a local commodity from South Kalimantan, fortified with moringa leaves and snakehead fish meal. This formulation produces analog rice with higher protein and mineral (iron and calcium) content than regular rice.
“We designed this innovation to provide a functional food that is highly nutritious, environmentally friendly, and can help address nutritional issues such as stunting and serve as a healthy alternative for diabetes sufferers,” said Rodhiyatam Mardhiyah, representing the team.
This work received high praise for successfully combining local potential with a modern scientific approach, while also demonstrating how regional foods can compete internationally.
This achievement demonstrates the ULM students’ ability to innovate and make a significant contribution to efforts to achieve national food self-sufficiency. Not only did they excel in their ideas, but the team was also recognized for successfully presenting their research results systematically and comprehensively to international participants and judges.
Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University, Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri, expressed his pride in the achievements of the Faculty of Agriculture students.
“This achievement confirms ULM’s strong commitment to fostering the development of the interests and talents of its academic community. We want students to not only learn in the classroom but also to demonstrate their abilities at the national and international levels,” he said.
