ULM Rector Welcomes Gabor Denes University Hungary Delegation, Signs MoU on International Cooperation
Banjarmasin – Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc., welcomed the visit of the Rector of Gabor Denes University (GDU), Hungary, Dr. Zimanyi Krisztina. The visit discussed potential collaboration and led to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities. The event took place in the Wasaka 1 Room, ULM Banjarmasin Rectorate Building, on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).
The signing of this MoU is an important step in strengthening ULM’s international collaboration network, particularly in the fields of education, research, and technology development. Through this partnership, both universities are committed to exploring various collaboration opportunities, including lecturer and student exchanges, joint research, and digital technology-based curriculum development.
The event was also attended by ULM Vice Rector IV, Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., along with five other GDU delegates, attended to explore the potential for strategic collaboration with ULM.
The ULM Rector warmly welcomed the GDU delegation in his remarks. He also introduced the characteristics of South Kalimantan, ULM’s general profile, and its strengths, including its mangrove management.
“ULM has a special area, namely mangroves. It has become one of the world’s central laboratories,” said Prof. Ahmad during the discussion.
The event continued with the signing of an MoU between the ULM Rector and the GDU Rector. This event is expected to mark the beginning of a long-term relationship between ULM and GDU, supporting innovation and human resource development in both countries.
