Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) once again demonstrated its commitment to developing an inspiring and meaningful academic tradition through a book review and dissemination event entitled “Archeology of Leadership of Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan.” Held at the South Kalimantan Regional Police headquarters, this event marked a positive synergy between higher education and law enforcement institutions.

The book, written by Pathurrahman and Daddy Fahmanadie, and edited by Siti Mauliana Hairini, provides an in-depth examination of the leadership of Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief. This work is considered a reflection of humanistic, innovative, and public service-oriented leadership.

ULM Rector, Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri, expressed his appreciation for the work and emphasized that this activity is part of the university’s efforts to enrich the scientific literature and broaden students’ horizons regarding real-world leadership practices.

“This book is very inspiring. It illustrates how leadership with integrity and vision can bring change and progress to an institution,” he said in his remarks.

The book review, held at the Prof. Idham Zarkasi Auditorium, Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (ULM), was interactive and attended by more than 150 participants, including students, lecturers, agency leaders, and members of the South Kalimantan Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda).

Also present as reviewers were Mada Sukmajadi (Political Science Expert from Gadjah Mada University), Anang Shophan Tornado (Legal Science Expert from ULM), and Haryanto (Political Science Expert from Hasanuddin University), who together explored the leadership values that are at the heart of the book.

In his presentation, Pathurrahman explained that Inspector General Yudha’s leadership success lies in his ability to read situations, understand policy directions, and empower all elements of the organization to achieve strategic goals. Values such as professionalism, fair law enforcement, and support for national policies such as the food security program are concrete manifestations of effective leadership.

Pathurrahman continued, hoping that this book will not only contribute to the development of knowledge but also inspire students and the public interested in leadership studies, particularly in public institutions and law enforcement.

Meanwhile, South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan expressed his appreciation to the writing team, the rector, and the Faculty of Law at ULM for organizing this academic activity.

“I feel an emotional connection to ULM because my wife and I are doctoral students at this university. I hope this book can broaden the horizons of our students as future leaders,” he said enthusiastically.

Through this activity, Lambung Mangkurat University affirms its commitment to continuously supporting the development of the interests and talents of its academic community, not only in research and teaching, but also in efforts to strengthen cross-sector collaboration.

ULM believes that the synergy between knowledge, practical experience, and humanitarian values will produce a generation of leaders with integrity, competitiveness, and readiness to face future challenges—in line with the spirit of “ULM is Superior, High-Quality, and Globally Competitive.”
