FKIK ULM Students Excel at SIMPIC 2025, Proving Excellence on the International Stage
Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (FKIK ULM) has once again achieved a proud accomplishment at the Siriraj International Medical Microbiology and Immunology Competition (SIMPIC) 2025 in Thailand. The competition, held from January 18-21, 2025, was attended by 54 teams from nine countries, including Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, South Korea, and China.
Two teams from FKIK ULM showcased exceptional abilities in this prestigious event. Team A consisted of Salwa Sabrina, Raudha Rizkiafillah, Chedira Clairine, and Vidia Maharani, while Team B was represented by Angga Saputra, Fuad Fajar Akhlis, Raja Pardomuan Harahap, and Hernaldi Reiki. Both teams advanced to the semifinals, demonstrating academic excellence and thorough preparation.
Moreover, Team B advanced to the finals and secured Fourth Place, a remarkable achievement for FKIK ULM. In addition to the team achievements, several students also received individual awards:
- Silver Medal: Raja Pardomuan Harahap
- Bronze Medals: Salwa Sabrina, Hernaldi Reiki, and Fuad Fajar Akhlis
This achievement reflects the dedication, hard work, and fighting spirit of FKIK ULM students in competing at the international level. Prof. Syamsul expressed his pride in this accomplishment.
“Every FKIK student has the potential to shine. I hope this victory inspires other students to continue striving and achieving excellence in the field of medicine,” he said.
He also appreciated the role of Dr. Alfi Yasmina, M.Kes., Ph.D., as the Arbor Vitae Supervising Lecturer, as well as the mentors and supervising lecturers who have contributed to the students’ success.
“May the student cadre for achievements continue. With hard work and strong commitment, I am confident our students can compete at the national and international levels,” he added.
The success of FKIK ULM at SIMPIC 2025 reaffirms its position as a globally competitive medical education institution. This achievement is expected to motivate other students to continue developing and making tangible contributions to the medical field.
