Civil Engineering Study Program Holds National Seminar “Challenges and Innovation in Infrastructure Development for the Archipelago Capital City (IKN) on Clay Shale Land Using BIM as Support”
Banjarmasin – The Civil Engineering Study Program Student Association, Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held the X Annual National Seminar & Call for Paper on Saturday (28/10/2023). With the theme “Challenges and Innovation in the Development of Archipelago Capital Infrastructure (IKN) on Clay Shale Land Using BIM as Support”, Semnas X was held at the Rattan Inn Hotel, Banjarmasin.
Coordinator of the FT ULM Civil Engineering Master’s study program, Der.Eng Irfan Prasetia, S.T., M.T., said that the implementation of this activity was the result of collaboration between the Civil Engineering Bachelor’s and Master’s study programs and their students. This activity was held as a forum for research, studies, as well as a means of friendship and collaboration for researchers throughout Indonesia. Through this national seminar activity, lecturers and students have a place to publish the results of their research.
“With the implementation of this National Seminar, it is hoped that we can contribute our thinking regarding the challenges faced in IKN as well as update and increase our knowledge regarding the prevention and management of development on clay shale land,” he said.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., who had the opportunity to attend this activity directly, also expressed his appreciation for the students, leaders, study program coordinators, and other academics who were involved in implementing National Semester X activities. The theme raised at the national seminar is very much in line with the dynamics currently taking place, namely IKN development.
“ULM will be appointed as a strategic state university partner for IKN (National Capital) in carrying out research and research, especially in the field of wetlands. This is in accordance with ULM’s vision and mission.” said the Rector.
The Rector hopes that in the future this national seminar activity can be encouraged and improved to become an international seminar. This is related to the strategy of strengthening study programs at ULM, one of which is making study programs have international accreditation.
