Banjarmasin – The Academic and Student Affairs Bureau of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held the activity “Fostering to Improve Academic Achievement” on Saturday (28/10/2023) at Hall 4 of the Lecture Theater SAC ULM Banjarmasin. This event was held for ULM students who received Smart Indonesia Cards (KIP) for College and Higher Education Affirmation (ADik).
With the theme “Personal Strengthening in Carrying Out Functions as a Student and Facing All Academic Challenges (Thesis)”, ULM invited Psychologist Dina Aprilia, M.Sc., as a speaker in this activity. This activity was held as a form of effort by ULM to continue to encourage improvements in student academic achievement so that the scholarships they have received can continue to run.
This activity was attended by approximately 100 ULM students who received the KIP Kuliah and Affirmasi Dikti scholarships from the 2020 to 2022 class. The ULM students who received the KIP Kuliah and Affirmasi Dikti scholarships came from various faculties and study programs.
KIP-Kuliah is a program from the Indonesian government which is a form of commitment to focus on improving human resource development. Through KIP-Kuliah, the Indonesian government helps students who have economic limitations but have good achievements to continue their studies at university.
Meanwhile, the Affirmation of Higher Education or ADik scholarship is also a program from the government to help universities find and recruit prospective students from the regions, frontiers, outermost areas and underdeveloped regions. The ADik Scholarship is also the government’s effort to provide the widest possible access to higher education for high school graduates and the equivalent.
This affirmative education policy is carried out to provide learning opportunities for students who experience difficulties and affordability of access to education at the higher education level.
This policy is the government’s effort to increase the availability, affordability, quality, equality and certainty of obtaining quality education services for people of secondary school age who are hampered by geographical and/or economic barriers (poverty).
Some of the qualifications for students who can receive educational affirmation assistance include: those from frontier, outermost, disadvantaged areas (3T), indigenous Papuans (OAP), children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) from border areas, and students with disabilities, as well as college students those affected by natural disasters or social conflicts.
Lambung Mangkurat University, as one of the state universities in Kalimantan, is one of the universities that accepts the KIP-Kuliah and ADik programs.
