65 Years of ULM: Encouraging International Accreditation Towards a World Class Campus
Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is now entering its 65th year on September 21 2023. To commemorate and celebrate this, ULM is holding a series of events for the 65th ULM Anniversary which will be held throughout September.
The culmination of the series of events for the 65th ULM Anniversary was held in the form of an Open Senate Session on Thursday (21/9/2023) at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium. This event was attended by thousands of ULM students, lecturers, staff, and faculty and institutional leaders within Lambung Mangkurat University.
At the peak event of this Anniversary, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, S.Hut., M.P., Director General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Management, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, S.Hut., M.P., who is also an alumnus of the ULM Faculty of Forestry, was also present as a guest of honor. The Governor of South Kalimantan attended this event, represented by the Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province, Ir. Roy Rizali Anwar, S.T., M.T., to hand over grant assistance from the regional government amounting to more than IDR 3.3 billion to ULM.
On this occasion, ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Si., gave a speech containing a description of the achievements that ULM has achieved in its 65th year. Apart from that, the Rector also said that ULM is currently working to achieve the title of world class campus (World Class University).
“ULM as a state university in South Kalimantan is currently on its way to becoming a world-class campus. In total there are 9 study programs that are in the process of applying for international accreditation. “This is an effort to improve the quality of learning to be more competitive in global competition,” said Prof. Ahmad.
Among the 9 study programs, 4 of them have gone through the visitation or field assessment stage from the ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering Informatics/Computer Science, The Natural Sciences and Mathematics) team. The four study programs are the Bachelor of Science study program, the Bachelor of Agribusiness study program, the Bachelor of Agricultural Industrial Technology study program, and the Bachelor of Forestry study program.
Meanwhile, 4 other study programs are in the process of applying to receive international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), and 1 other study program is in the process of applying to receive international accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).
At this event, award certificates were also handed over to outstanding lecturers and study programs. With this agenda, it is hoped that it can motivate study programs and ULM academics to continue to improve performance, synergy and collaboration in order to increase joint achievements and accomplishments.
