ULM Strengthens International Research Access through KPTN-KTI Collaboration Agreement with Elsevier

Jakarta – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) reaffirmed its role in strengthening the national research and scientific publication ecosystem by actively participating in the signing of the Collaboration Agreement (PKS) of the Eastern Indonesia State Universities Consortium (KPTN-KTI) regarding a joint subscription to the Elsevier scientific journal platform, held on Monday (January 5, 2026) in Jakarta.

This activity is a strategic step for KPTN-KTI to increase access to internationally reputable scientific literature sources. Through this PKS, all 46 KPTN-KTI member universities, including ULM, can access the Elsevier scientific journal platform in full without limits or quotas. This is expected to boost the quality of research, publications, and learning within the university environment.

At this event, the Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University, Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si., was present in person and participated in the discussion session regarding follow-up to the collaboration. The presence of ULM leaders demonstrated the institution’s commitment to ensuring the optimal utilization of this collaboration and its tangible impact on the academic community. Additionally, the Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Ir. Arief Rahmad Maulana Akbar, M.Si., IPU., and the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, S.E., M.Si., also attended the series of activities.

The signing of this MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between state universities in Eastern Indonesia by providing equitable access to high-quality scientific literature. Full access to Elsevier journals is expected to support increased research productivity for lecturers and students, enrich academic references, and accelerate the achievement of globally competitive research outputs.

Prof. Ahmad hopes that this collaboration will enable ULM lecturers and students to access international journals and produce higher-quality, international-level research outputs. For Lambung Mangkurat University, this collaboration aligns with the institution’s commitment to fostering a strong research culture, improving the quality of scientific publications, and strengthening ULM’s academic reputation at the national and international levels. Through synergy within the KPTN-KTI consortium, ULM is optimistic about maximizing access to scientific journals to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in a sustainable and impactful manner.
