Rector Signs 2026 Performance Contract, Strengthening Commitment to Impactful Campuses with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology
Jakarta – The Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., attended the 2026 Impactful Higher Education Performance Contract Signing Ceremony, held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) Building in Jakarta.
In this important event, the Rector was present in person with hundreds of leaders of state and private universities, as well as the LLDIKTI (Higher Education Service Institution) under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), to align the policy direction and performance of the institutions with central government policies. The signing of this performance contract serves as an important foundation for universities in implementing measurable programs and performance targets for 2026.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., in his remarks emphasized that the performance contract is a shared mandate between the government and all higher education institutions, both public and private, to advance Indonesian higher education. He stated that the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology’s 2025 Strategic Plan, as stipulated in Ministerial Regulation Number 40 of 2025, is a shared commitment that must be consistently implemented by all higher education leaders.
Prof. Brian also emphasized that the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology’s vision is to realize an inclusive, adaptive, and impactful education and science and technology to support the nation’s transformation toward a Golden Indonesia 2045. This vision has been translated into a mission, goals, targets, and measurable and accountable Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The signing of this performance contract is expected to serve as a shared guide and reference so that all higher education institutions move in the same direction and synergize.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the enormous potential of higher education institutions as a strategic strength of the nation. With more than 4,600 universities, 300,000 lecturers, and nearly 10 million active students, universities are considered to have a significant economic impact, reaching hundreds of trillions of rupiah annually. Therefore, universities are encouraged to create breakthroughs, strengthen research, encourage the downstreaming of research results, and build collaborations with state-owned enterprises and the private sector to ensure a more tangible impact on society.
At this event, Prof. Ahmad stated that ULM is ready to synergize with ministries and universities throughout Indonesia to realize this vision and become an adaptive, innovative campus that actively participates in the national Impact Campus agenda.
Through this performance contract alignment, ULM is committed to maintaining academic quality, strengthening human resources, and making tangible contributions to regional and national development. With the signing of the 2026 Impact University Performance Contract, ULM is optimistic that it can continue to improve institutional performance and contribute to producing superior human resources, relevant research, and sustainable social and economic impacts for Indonesia.
