Banjarmasin, November 21, 2025 – The Batang Banyu Learning group from the Educational Technology Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), has successfully advanced to the final round of the 2025 Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM), organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology. The Batang Banyu group developed a problem-based learning (PBL) model as an innovation in the Microteching Digital Education (MDP) competition.

This problem-based learning (PBL) model is integrated with the Informatics subject for grade IX junior high school. The innovation provides interactive student worksheets (LKPD) in PDF format that can be typed directly, making it easier for students to understand the material, especially regarding data and information security.

This innovation, developed by the Batang Banyu Learning group, was piloted in September 2025 at SMPN 4 Banjarmasin. The students demonstrated high enthusiasm thanks to the more varied learning methods, ranging from discussions and quizzes via Wayground, flipbook materials, and an assignment submission system via Google Drive.

The development process for this innovation was carried out in stages, starting with the preparation of proposals, the creation of teaching modules containing lesson plans and syntax, and the production of microteaching videos, which were then uploaded to YouTube as part of the final assessment.

The head of the Batang Banyu Learning group, Dea Agustina, hopes this innovation will have a broader impact on the world of education.

“We hope the output of the lesson plans and microteaching videos can inspire educators, especially at the junior high school level, to develop relevant digital learning,” she said.

Qomario, S.Pd., M.Pd., a supervisor at Batang Banyu Learning, emphasized that this interactive student worksheet innovation is expected to be implemented in schools as part of the dissemination of student ideas.

“We hope that this innovation will not only lead us to become a finalist in the LIDM competition, but also that this interactive worksheet model can be used in schools, not only in junior high schools but also at other levels of education,” he explained.

LIDM 2025 carries the mission of improving students’ digital literacy through five competition divisions: Educational Digital Technology Innovation, Educational Digital Learning Innovation, Educational Digital Video, Educational Digital Poster, and Educational Digital Microteaching. This year’s theme also supports the vision of Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045, which emphasizes the importance of digital competence among students.

Batang Banyu Learning is one of three ULM student teams selected as national finalists in LIDM 2025. The competition finals will take place from December 1–4, 2025, at PGRI Adi Buana University, Surabaya.

ULM expresses its full support and hopes that the Batang Banyu Learning team will bring home awards in the upcoming LIDM 2025 finals. This support demonstrates the university’s appreciation for the students’ efforts and hard work in delivering learning innovations that are relevant to today’s needs. ULM considers student involvement in this competition an important step in fostering a culture of innovation and strengthening the contribution of higher education institutions to advancing digital education in Indonesia.
