BRI Goes to Campus Program, Provides Job Opportunities for ULM Alumni
Banjarmasin – PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to strive to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources in facing social, cultural, world of work changes and technological advances in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. A total of 7,500 work units spread across large cities and remote areas require BRI to have a workforce capable of being placed in various areas. Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) as a struggling campus that has been around for 65 years has become a place to gain knowledge and study experience for many people from various regions. So, the possibility for alumni to return to their home area is very large. This is what makes the BRI Goes to Campus program which was held on (31/01/2024) at the ULM General Building considered a strategic program for ULM, especially alumni who want to build a career.
The BRI Goes to Campus activity is a collaboration between BRI Regional Banjarmasin and CeDC ULM holding various activities including Seminars and Workshops related to career opportunities at BRI, BRI recruitment information, Walk In Interviews and providing various kinds of door prizes and other attractive prizes. This event certainly brings a breath of fresh air to ULM which is a workforce creation forum where students who have potential in the workforce, especially banking, can join and show their abilities. With the presentation of 2 speakers, namely Herman Felani as Junior Manager and Subkhan Effendi as Department Head at the BRI Banjarmasin Regional Office, they provided information regarding job opportunities at PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.
In line with this, ULM has a Career and Entrepreneur Development Center (CEDC) which has a role as a mediator between job seekers or alumni and companies/agencies/industries that are in need of workers. Even Dr. Rusmin as Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs stated that this work unit also really supports the success of IKU 1, where ULM must be able to get their alumni to get jobs within a certain period of time. “ULM is required to see how CeDC can support IKU so that alumni within 6-12 months can find work,” he said.
Approximately 400 students and several alumni attended the General Building. The Vice Chancellor hopes that the completion of this seminar and workshop will be an opportunity for final semester students and alumni to develop the potential they have with PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. “Approximately 400 final students and alumni are dominated by final students and it is hoped that BRI can accommodate all of them because as we know BRI is in all corners and alumni will have to be ready to be placed anywhere,” he added.
