160 Students of ULM, UPR and UNMUL Participate in KSE Borneo 2024
Banjarbaru, as a means of learning as well as opening insight and inspiring students regarding good communication in an organization and preparing themselves to face the world of work. Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE) and Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a “Face to Face and Talkshow KSE Borneo (ULM, UPR and UNMUL)” activity for KSE scholarship recipients.
This activity took place in hall 1 of the ULM Faculty of Engineering from 27 to 28 January 2024 and was attended by 120 (one hundred and twenty) students receiving KSE scholarships, with the following details:
- 40 students from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM)
- 40 Palangkaraya University (UPR) students
- 40 Mulawarman University (UNMUL) students
ULM Vice Rector for Alumni and Student Affairs Dr. Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si appreciated this talk show activity and also KSE’s scholarship and commitment in the field of education through scholarships to ULM students and students in Kalimantan. “The contribution of the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation with more than 20 thousand alumni is truly extraordinary because it is not only material but also soft skills and networking which will be very useful for students in the future,” said Dr. Rusmin. He also hopes that in the future scholarship recipients can be expanded from the 3 PTNs that are already running this year.
Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE) is a non-profit organization that focuses on education. Founded in 1998 by alumni of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia, KSE aims to help outstanding students from underprivileged families to continue their education to undergraduate level.
KSE provides scholarships to undergraduate students of at least semester 2 at 35 selected State Universities (PTN). This scholarship offers a living allowance of IDR 750,000 per month for 1 year, extendable. Apart from that, KSE also holds coaching programs for the self-development of scholarship recipients, such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and seminars according to the recipient’s interests.
Until 2023, KSE has provided scholarships to more than 30,000 students from 35 PTNs. The KSE Scholarship has become one of the leading scholarship programs in Indonesia and has helped many outstanding students achieve their dreams.
In general, this activity aims to encourage and help prepare scholarship recipients to become graduates who have integrity, have a national outlook, love their homeland, homeland and nation and have the capacity and competence to become potential leaders in the future and can build good communication and relationships between students, Donors, Academic Community, and KSE.
Specifically, it also aims to:
- A source of motivation and a means of bonding between fellow KSE scholarship recipients
- Know and understand the values of Sharing, Networking & Developing
- Providing inspiration to students to be able to convey messages with
- clear and communicate effectively
- Gain knowledge about career management or preparation for the world of work
- Students are able to recognize personal mental health early
- build a positive personality
