Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again achieved a proud achievement in research. Twelve ULM lecturers were selected as recipients of the 2026 Fiscal Year Multi-Year Research Program funding, announced on March 6, 2026, through letter number 195/DST/C3/DT.05.00/2026, by the Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.

This funding was awarded to research proposals that had previously received grants in 2025 and were deemed to have demonstrated strong performance in their first year of implementation. Through an evaluation of the research reports submitted at the end of 2025, these proposals were deemed eligible to continue in the second year without the need for a new proposal submission.

Head of the ULM Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Prof. Prof. Sunardi, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained that this program is a continuation of the research funding scheme provided by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) through the BIMA platform.

“The twelve proposals from ULM that received this continued research grant were research that performed very well in their first year of implementation. The output targets promised in the previous proposals have been achieved, so the review team deemed them worthy of continuation in the second year in 2026,” he said.

According to him, this success demonstrates the seriousness of ULM lecturers in conducting research and being accountable for the grant funding provided by the government. This achievement also indicates that the quality of research at ULM continues to improve.

“This is an extraordinary achievement by ULM lecturers. Refunded research means that the implementation in the first year is considered successful and produces results in line with the promised output targets,” added Prof. Sunardi.

The Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., also expressed his appreciation for this achievement. He stated that this success demonstrates that the research spirit within ULM continues to grow and produce high-quality scientific work.

“We highly appreciate the achievements of the lecturers who have successfully secured this continued multi-year research funding. This demonstrates that their research is not only progressing well but is also achieving the planned output targets,” he said.

The Rector emphasized that ULM will continue to encourage the strengthening of the research ecosystem on campus so that more high-quality research can be produced and provide broad benefits to the community.

“Lambung Mangkurat University is committed to continuously supporting lecturers and researchers in producing innovations and impactful scientific work. We hope this achievement will motivate other academics to continue improving the quality of their research,” he added.

This achievement underscores Lambung Mangkurat University’s commitment to strengthening the culture of research and innovation on campus. Through its support for sustainable research activities, ULM continues to encourage lecturers to produce scientific work that is not only academically superior but also has a real impact on the advancement of the region and the nation.
