Jakarta – The Center for Competency Assessment and Psychological Services (PPKPP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has officially received A-grade accreditation as an assessment center from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN). The accreditation certificate presentation took place on Thursday (January 23, 2026) at the BKN Central Hall, Jakarta, as part of the 2025 Coordination Meeting and Accreditation Certificate Presentation for Assessment Centers.
The accreditation certificate was presented directly by the Head of the BKN Central Office, Prof. Dr. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, S.H., M.H., to the Head of the ULM Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Nieke Rezeki Febriantie, S.E., M.M., and the Deputy Head of PPKPP ULM, Marina Dwi Mayangsari, M.Psi, a Psychologist, who was present as a ULM representative.
An A-grade accreditation from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) for an assessment center indicates that the institution has met the highest standards in conducting human resource (HR) assessments, including methodology, assessor competency, governance, infrastructure, and quality assurance. This accreditation serves as official recognition that the assessment results are reliable, objective, and compliant with national standards.
Therefore, this achievement confirms the position of PPKPP ULM as an assessment center that has met the highest national standards for human resource competency assessment.
“With this achievement, ULM officially received permission to conduct assessments for all civil servants up to the senior leadership level,” explained Marina.
Functionally, the assessment center plays a strategic role in mapping individual competencies, potential, and character, particularly in the context of civil servant HR management. PPKPP ULM, as an assessment center, is used for various purposes, such as selection, promotion, transfer, career development, and merit-based job arrangements, starting from the executive, supervisory, administrator, and senior leadership levels. With a measured and scientific approach, the assessment center helps organizations make more accurate and fair HR decisions, especially for the Civil Service.
The PPKPP’s achievement as an A-accredited assessment center offers numerous advantages and strategic opportunities for ULM. In addition to enhancing the institution’s reputation, this achievement demonstrates ULM as a university with professional services and national recognition. The PPKPP can also serve as a vehicle for developing applied science, strengthening collaboration with government agencies, and providing a source of community service and generating institutional revenue. Furthermore, it also opens up opportunities for lecturers and campus practitioners to contribute directly to the development of national human resource quality.
Furthermore, the PPKPP, ULM’s assessment center, can also assist local governments in meeting strategic needs, such as serving as an independent and credible partner in implementing civil service (ASN) assessments, both for high-ranking position selection, performance evaluation, and competency development. As a higher education institution, the ULM assessment center offers advantages in terms of academic objectivity, a scientific approach, and regional proximity, which makes it more time- and cost-efficient.
The A accreditation from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) demonstrates that the PPKPP ULM has met all assessment criteria, including the quality of the assessment methodology, assessor competency, institutional governance, facilities and infrastructure, and the quality assurance system. With this status, the assessment results conducted by PPKPP ULM are deemed valid, objective, and can be used as a basis for decision-making in civil servant human resource management.
PPKPP ULM serves as a forum for strengthening the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through professional services, institutional collaboration, and tangible contributions to human resource development. For local governments, PPKPP ULM serves as an independent and credible partner in the selection, promotion, and competency development of civil servants (ASN).
With this A accreditation, PPKPP ULM is the only assessment center under a university in South Kalimantan to be accredited A, enabling it to actively contribute to strengthening the merit system, improving the quality of ASN, and developing superior and high-integrity human resources in Kalimantan and Indonesia more broadly.
