ULM Mourns, Rector Appreciates Police for Solving Accounting Student Case

Banjarmasin – The Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri, expressed his appreciation to the South Kalimantan Regional Police for their swift action in solving the murder case of a ULM student with the initials ZD (20).

The Rector expressed his gratitude to the South Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, and the police for their swift response, which enabled the case to be quickly resolved.

“The arrest of the perpetrator is an important part of law enforcement, and also provides a sense of justice for the victim’s family,” the Rector emphasized. He hopes the legal process will be carried out firmly and the perpetrator will receive the punishment commensurate with his actions.

ULM, through the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, has expressed his condolences to the victim’s family. The Rector also prayed that the deceased will receive forgiveness and a place in the presence of God Almighty, and that the bereaved family will be given strength and fortitude.

The victim was found dead on Wednesday (24/12) in a water channel in the STIH Sultan Adam Campus area, Banjarmasin. In less than 24 hours, the Banjarmasin Police Criminal Investigation Unit together with the South Kalimantan Regional Police Criminal Investigation Directorate managed to secure the perpetrator. The perpetrator with the initials Bripda MS (20), a member of the National Police who served at the Banjarbaru Police. The South Kalimantan Regional Police confirmed that in addition to being processed criminally, the perpetrator will also undergo a hearing by the National Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission and be subject to a dishonorable discharge sanction.
