ULM and DPRD Meeting: Rector Ensures Research and Publication Facilitation for Affected Lecturers
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) reaffirmed its commitment to providing support and assistance to lecturers affected by the revocation of their professorships. This was conveyed by ULM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, in a meeting with Commission IV of the South Kalimantan Provincial DPRD.
The Rector explained that ULM has prepared several policies and strategic steps to facilitate the restoration and reapplication of professorships for the lecturers concerned. These efforts received positive appreciation from members of the South Kalimantan DPRD.
“The implemented policies are focused on providing opportunities for lecturers to reapply for professorships in accordance with applicable regulations,” said the Rector. He added that the ministry also provides space for lecturers whose professorships have been revoked to reapply within one year of the issuance of the decree.
As a form of concrete support, ULM is providing various facilities, including research funding, academic mentoring, verification processes through the Publication Center, and funding for the publication of scientific journals. For assigned research, the university allocates a budget of approximately IDR 100 million per research project. Through this measure, ULM hopes that affected lecturers can immediately fulfill the established requirements and reapply for professorships in accordance with regulations.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the South Kalimantan Provincial DPRD, H. Supian HK, emphasized the importance of addressing this issue comprehensively. He explained that the application and recommendation process for professorships involves various stages at both the university and ministry levels, so it needs to be fully understood by the public.
On the same occasion, the Rector emphasized that lecturers’ teaching data has been recorded in the education system from the beginning and cannot be changed. The updated aspect of professorship applications focuses more on scientific journal publications. To support this, ULM reiterated its commitment by allocating IDR 100 million per lecturer to finance journal publication.
