ULM Integrated Laboratory Undergoes ISO 45001:2018 Audit
Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving occupational safety standards by conducting a Stage 2 Audit of the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) Management System at the ULM Integrated Laboratory. The audit took place from December 8 to 10, 2025, and was officially opened by ULM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc., and Head of the Integrated Laboratory, Dr. rer. nat. Liling Triyasmono, S.Farm., M.Sc.
The three-day audit was a strategic step for ULM to ensure that all laboratory service processes meet national and international standards. Through the implementation of the OHS management system, ULM emphasized its commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of all academics during research and practicum activities.
In his remarks, Rector Prof. Ahmad emphasized that ULM continues to work quickly and with focus to improve the quality of higher education management.
“Thank God, with the management system we have established, in less than six months, ULM has been ranked among the top three candidates for PTN-BH (State Legal Entity State University). This is all the result of diligent work and a commitment to building a culture of honesty, as evidenced by ULM’s achievements,” said the Rector.
He added that the ongoing audit will be of significant benefit to improving institutional performance. “We will learn from our shortcomings and improve them to produce excellent results,” Prof. Ahmad emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Integrated Laboratory, Dr. Liling, explained that the implementation of the OHS system is a crucial part of improving the quality of ULM’s research services.
“This OHS system is crucial and meets standards at both the national and international levels. We will immediately follow up on the audit results to strengthen readiness for certification in 2026 for all work units at ULM, as directed by the Rector,” he explained.
ULM’s Integrated Laboratory continues to develop rapidly, having its inauguration in 2023, expanding its services in 2024, and then undergoing the accreditation process in 2025. As of August 28, 2025, several management systems had been completed, solidifying ULM’s readiness to enter the next certification stage.
This ISO 45001:2018 audit is part of ULM’s major strides toward achieving World-Class University status and perfecting its readiness to achieve State-Owned Legal Entity University (PTN-BH) status, prioritizing safety, productivity, and service quality. By consistently improving laboratory governance and quality, ULM further affirms its strategic role in supporting innovative research and occupational safety in Indonesia’s higher education environment.
