Nurhalisa Wibawa Selected as 2025 Female Intelegensia Health Ambassador: A Demonstration of ULM’s Commitment to Encouraging Achievement and Health Advocacy for the Young Generation

Banjarmasin, November 27, 2025 – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again achieved a proud achievement at the national level. Nurhalisa Wibawa, a 2023 undergraduate student in the Nursing Study Program, was successfully selected as the 2025 Female Intelegensia Health Ambassador at the Indonesian Health Ambassador Award, organized by the Bali Health Office in collaboration with the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) on November 14–16, 2025.

This event is a national-level competition that brings together participants from various provinces to present their ideas, innovations, and health advocacy programs. With a fiercely competitive atmosphere and participants coming from diverse health backgrounds, Nurhalisa’s success is strong evidence of ULM students’ capacity to think critically, care about health issues, and make a real impact on society.

In this competition, Nurhalisa presented a program titled “Tour to Team Sekaba: Dengue Fever Education for Children.” This program was designed as a child-friendly Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) education model, using an interactive approach through games, visual illustrations, and a question-and-answer session. This method was chosen to help children understand the dangers of DHF and the importance of maintaining a clean environment in a fun and memorable way.

During two months of preparation, Nurhalisa developed a concept, created educational media, practiced delivering the material, and even conducted live trials with children to ensure the method’s effectiveness. The results of this hard work gave her a confident performance before the national panel of judges.

Behind this achievement, Nurhalisa faced several challenges, from simplifying complex health concepts into easily digestible material for children to managing her time between competition preparation, lectures, and other activities. Facing the national jury was also a challenge.

However, with consistent practice, good time management, and the support of her community, she overcame all challenges and performed optimally on the national stage.

Nurhalisa’s journey in this competition was inseparable from the support of the South Kalimantan Health Office and IDUKES South Kalimantan, which provided guidance on material content, delivery techniques, and administrative support. This collaboration strengthened the quality of her program while ensuring its effective delivery for the children’s education goals.

For Nurhalisa, participating in this competition was not only a competitive experience but also an enriching one. She met participants from various regions with innovative programs, learned about health advocacy, and learned how to communicate health issues inclusively to the community.

The most memorable moment for her was when she successfully delivered her presentation with confidence and pride as a representative of South Kalimantan.

This achievement underscores ULM’s commitment to continuously supporting students in developing their potential, innovation, and leadership talents in various fields, including public health. ULM’s support, reflected in coaching, mentoring, and a conducive academic ecosystem, provides a crucial foundation for students to excel at the national level.

ULM believes that Nurhalisa’s success is not only a source of personal pride but also an inspiration for other students to continue working and making real contributions to society. ULM will continue to encourage the birth of a young generation that is intelligent, caring, and competitive—those who are able to bring positive change to the region, the nation, and the world.
