ULM’s Wasaka Team Advances to the 2025 KMHE Urban Concept Gasoline MPD Category

Banjarmasin – The Wasaka Team from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has advanced to the finals of the 2025 Energy-Efficient Car Contest (KMHE). The ULM Wasaka Team passed the Virtual Technical Inspection selection by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), through an official announcement on September 22, 2025.

In the announcement, the ULM Wasaka Team was listed as a participant in the Urban Concept category for the Gasoline Internal Combustion Engine (MPD) class, alongside several renowned Indonesian universities such as Brawijaya University, Yogyakarta State University, and UPN Veteran Jakarta.

The Energy-Efficient Car Contest (KMHE) is a national competition organized by the Student Student Association (Belmawa) of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Technology, in collaboration with the University of Jember, as the 2025 host. With the theme “Energy Saving for Indonesia’s Future,” the 2025 KMHE aims to foster student innovation in designing and developing energy-efficient vehicles that are efficient, environmentally friendly, and highly competitive.

The selection process for all participants includes a vehicle design report, the creation of a virtual technical inspection video, and a final assessment by a panel of judges. Based on the selection results, the teams selected will compete offline in the final round, scheduled for October 23–26, 2025, at the University of Jember.

The achievement of the ULM Wasaka Team demonstrates the students’ commitment to innovation in the field of energy-efficient automotive technology and serves as concrete evidence of ULM’s contribution to developing a creative, superior, and nationally competitive young generation.
